SWEET REVENGE Tom Brady throws for 4 touchdowns against Jags in a 34-7 win. Week 5 in Hard Knocks featured last year's AFC Championship game. Except this time, the game was in New England as the Patriots hosted HAL9100 and the Jacksonville Jaguars. What a huge statement game for the NE Pats to make holding the Jags under 200 yards of total offense and almost doubling that with 378 yards of total offense. Tom Brady went off. 4 touchdown passes with 0 interceptions. 15 completions out of 19 attempts for 375 yards! The Patriot run game was a non factor. It didn't matter. The NFL was introduced to rookie WR Marcus Hines out of Vanderbilt. Hines grabbed 3 receptions for 102 yards and 2 TDs. Brandon Lloyd did the most damage with 5 catches for 138 yards and 1 TD. Wes Welker had 3 receptions for 45 yards and Rob Gronkowski held it down even with only 1 catch. He took that to the house for a 73 yard TD. Defensively the Pats line ate Mapa up with 5 sacks and flustered him all day. The Patriots had a defensive game plan that they executed from the jump and worked. No interceptions but they forced punts.
Titans Rise Again21-3 @ Houston Tommie Campbell had 3 INT's Titans came into Houston on a 2 game winning streak and looking to keep things going. Defensively this was true throughout the whole game. The D has been absolutely phenomenal the past 3 weeks. They shut Houston to just 89 total yards with 47 of those running and 42 of those from Arian. Last week Titans stuffed MJD this week Arian, they seem to have the rush D down. As for the passing that Titans gave up last week. Well the D listened to coaches gripe the whole week and backup FS Markelle Martin would answer first with the teams first INT of the game as he would reach up and take it away from a WR. Tommie Campbell was inspired and grabbed 3 more throughout the game. The team rallied for 4 sacks as well with Derrick Morgan getting 2 more. Offensively things have been a challenge. Chris Johnson has been in form this season in his only 2 games but this game was held up a bit. Jake Locker is inconsistent to say the least but showed again today why the Titans keep on keeping on with Locker as he had a nice game through the air connecting with Kendall Wright and Nate Washington for TD's.
the battle of the two undefeated teams left in the nfc would be a showcase of the two most stubborn defenses in the league. the niners only allowed the saints rushing attack to get 24 yards! they harassed brees all game, picking him off and sacking him for a safety! the saints defense would also knock around the opposing offense, only allowing just one score, a long draw on 3rd down by lamichael james, cameron jordan took it personally that they would run that play on his side and would be a terror for both anthony davis and kolin kaepernack, beating one to another to the tune of 6 sacks! the saints are off to a great start, taking things one game at a time. the niners are disappointed with the first loss of the season but hopes to maybe run into the saints in the post season, a possibility that is too soon to ponder still in the first half of the season. great game biggcoug65
it was a really good game
Vikings Luck out in Indy 34 to 31This game looked out of hand early when on the second play of the game new Colt running back DeMarco Murray gashed the Viking defense for a 60 yd td run ... this set the tone for most of the game ... Murray would break multiple tackles and keep the Colts offense moving all day long ... another ex-Cowboy Sean Lee game up big on defense ... he had two picks on the day, one which resulted in a pick 6 ... The Viking running game was again non-existant as the cpu will not allow you to run the ball at all ... Romo would keep his team in it after he got his 3 interceptions out of the way ... and in the 4th qtr is when he decided he needed to step up his game ... on a 4th and goal from the 5 yd line and trailing by 4 pts with 40 seconds left, Romo would hit TE John Carlson (who was filling in for an injured Kyle Rudolph) at the back of the end zone as a Colt DB whiffed while trying to bat the ball down ... Indy would mount a quick drive down the field and lined up for a 53 yd fg in an attempt to tie the game ... the kick was barely wide right but he did have enough leg ... Minnesota prevails 34 to 31 .. gg ChaoticUT Passing:Romo 30 of 43 for 452 yds 3 tds 3 intsLuck 9 for 16 for 149 yds 1 td Rushing:Peterson 12 for 42 Murray 18 for 164 1 tdWoodhead 3 for 31 Receiving:Harvin 7 for 147 1 tdRudolph 6 for 68 1 tdL.
