After starting 9/12 for 124 yards and rushing 11 times for 48 yards. The coaches felt that true Freshman Jamaal Dodd gave them the best chance to win and they threw him into the fire. The speedy 6'4" athlete from Amory, MS showed why the coaches have faith in him when he broke 2 long TD runs after hitting the field. The first was a 45 harder where he juked the LB and outran the rest of the defense. The second was a 52 yarder that capped the scoring for ULL. Thomas Singleton scored on a pair of 1 yard plunges. The defense was keyed by a pair of individual performances. Darrell Tovell, leading a defense that had 6 on the day. And Watson picked off 2 passes in the secondary leading a unit that had 3 interceptions of the Monarchs.
