SMU scores with 9 seconds left to become bowl eligible
    SMU 31- Tulsa 28
Ths SMU mustangs pulled off a fantastic game that was well played on both sides. Coach TeXasfight said "it felt like i was playing chess not football" The Mustangs are 6-2 and eligible for a bowl game now which is a big step in boosting up our program.
People doubted Koisers abbility to throw the ball since he was moved up to starter, today he proved them all wrong with the 2tds and the 180 yards. Kaiser also came u big on the grund with 90 yards rushing and one score. If he can keep this good play up watch out college football we have oursleves a real dual threat QB. The golden hurricanes kept this run game in check better than anyone elese has holding them to 165 yards. This Tulsa Offense also played great getting 400 total yards. Coach texasfights main goal everygame is to control the clock but today Tulsa beat them 17;53 to 10;07. I was suprised with that stat i was able to win.
    Scorring Summary

Cavaliers Hand Horned Frogs First Loss Of The Season

    #14 Virginia 45 vs. #22 TCU 12

Cavaliers Dominate Behind Record Setting Day By Torrey Mack

In a game of two undefeated teams, Virginia HB Torrey Mack was the deciding factor. Mack rushed the ball 27 times for 308 yards and 4 TD, breaking the Virginia single season rushing touchdown record with 22 already on the season. Mack is chasing the NCAA record of 37 rushing touchdowns in a season. "Torrey was unbelievable today," said Coach E "He kept making play after play and definitely deserves that record." Mack stepped up in a day that starting QB Michael Strauss would throw 3 INT, Strauss has evidently been struggling as of late.

The Virginia defense has forced the most turnovers in the NCAA this season, after the game against TCU they had accumulated 29 turnovers and 24 sacks. Also, they have only given up 109 points on the season.

The Cavaliers face BYU (2-4) at home next week in hopes of a perfect 10-0 start to the season

    ECU 23 UCF 0
Pirates have had alot to smile about recently, winning 5 straight conference games
    Central Florida
ECU came into this week 9 matchup knowing that a win here would put them in poll position for that conference USA Championship game. Coming into this week, ECU were 6-2 on the season, with a 4-0 conference record, while their opponents on the night, and CUSA-East foes, UCF were 5-2 on the season, with a 4-1 conference record. This would be a defensive game for the most part as ECU came away with their first shutout ever under Coach Zikry, while MLB Justin Jones added another 3 sacks on the day to tie the school record for sacks in a season with 15.
The scoring would start for ECU in the 1st quarter, as Robbie Miller would hit a 26 yard field goal before the defense would force a fumble, thanks to MLB Justin Jones, and the ECU offense would capitalize as QB Brad Wornick would hit WR Mike Price for a 1 yard touchdown. the XP would be missed as ECU took the 9-0 lead in the 1st.
The score would stay the same until the 3rd quarter, where ECU would add two more touchdowns. The first was on a Matt Brown run right up the middle as he was able to run past the defense and score for a 63 yard touchdown run. Then, the Mike Price to Brad Wornick connection would work again, as Wornick found Price for a 12 yard touchdown pass to give ECU the 23-0 lead, and that would be all the scoring in the game as the ECU defense was beasting on the day and would not be denied the shutout, even stopping UCF's offense cold on four straight plays from the 1 yard line.
Next week the ECU Pirates are on the road again as the face off against Tulane.
    ECU Player Stats:
QB Brad Wornick: 25-35, 285 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs
HB Matt Brown: 24 carries, 99 yards, 1 TD
MLB Justin Jones: 11 tackles (10 for loss), 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble

Bulls on Parade, USF 49 NC State 7
The USF Bulls were firing on all cylinders today. Coach distrktFIVE said this was the first complete game they have played all year, which is a scary thought for those left on the Bulls' schedule. Manning the offense was QB BJ Daniels. Daniels showed once again what a dual threat he is, going 14 for 18 through the air for 221 yards with 3 TDs and 1 INT in addition to running for 100+ yards on just 8 carries, with one being a 86 yard option keeper for the Bulls' first TD of the game. 3 different Bulls had TD catches and 3 different runners broke into the end zone for the Bulls, a balanced display of offense. The D was strong today, with the team finally starting to figure out the 3-3-5 and the 3-4 schemes they have switched to this year.
Julius Forte, the defensive end, had two tackles, both being sacks that forced fumbles and one led to a defensive TD. Longo, the MLB, led the charge with 9 solo tackles.
The Bulls have made it through the difficult part of their schedule, with only Rutgers, Syracuse, and UConn left to play at home but the lone road game left is Cincinnati in week 12. Can USF run the table? If they do will they get enough respect from the pollsters to make it to the BCS National Championship game? Lots of questions will be answered for the Bulls over the next 4 weeks.

    Red Raiders Bowl Eligable
The fans in Lubbock are ecstatic following the lastest victory for the Red Raiders. Despite a struggling performance from the offense the Red Raiders were able to escape with a 20-13 victory over Kansas State. The Red Wolves started out on fire with a two big offensive plays that resulted in scores. A 65 touchdown rush by HB Griffin and an unheard of 92 yard pass that resulted in a touchdown. We caught up with coach Sabo after the game.
"Im really dissappointed in our performance today. We won and a win is a win but we really didn't play to our potential. If not for the two big offensive plays we woulda walked out of the game with our second loss in a row. We will get the kinks worked out and will be ready to take the field on Saturday."

    UTEP 49 - Rice 13
    Miners force turnovers, win big

The Miners were able to get Rice to make mistake after mistake en route to a huge win. The Owls threw 5 interceptions and fumbled once and they practically handed the game over to UTEP. Rice looked good in the early parts of the game but UTEP was able to disguise their defense and stun the fast-paced, no-huddle Owl offense. With just over a minute left in the first quarter Freshman RB J. Means was able to take the outside zone play 83 yards to pay dirt, the momentum would be with the Miner's for the rest of the game. With inconsistent play at the quarterback positon the Miner's relied on the running game and it didn't fail them. As a team the Miner's rushed 40 times for 245 yards + TDs. The Miner's hope to finish the season strong and win out the rest of their games.

    Air Force 31 UNLV 9
The Falcons finally get themselves a win in what most would call a near perfect performance.
The Falcons got of to slow start as it took a few drives for the defense to wake up as UNLV quickly drove down the field and scored on their first position. After a missed point after it was the Falcons time to shine as they drove the field but were unable to punch it in and were left with only a field goal.
The next couple of postions for both teams were stopped by the defenses and the quarter ended 6 to 3.
The 2nd quarter started off with a bang however as the Falcons star QB Connor Dietz took it 38 yards to the house putting the Falcons up 10 to 6. However, on the next position UNLV would drive the field but unable to get it in they would settle for a 42 yard field goal to bring the Rebels within 1 point. Unfortunatly for UNLV it would be the last points they scored as the Falcons took control adding another touchdown in the last few seconds of the half.
The 2nd half was all Falcons as they held UNLV scoreless while they added 2 more touchdowns to put the game out of reach.
Player of the game awards go to QB Connor Deitz as he went 17-23 for 250 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also ran for 62 yards on just 3 carries.

Mississippi State Stuns Alabama, Wins 51-34

Hold onto your hats folks, because the Mississippi State Bulldogs and their all-out offensive gameplan is in town. What coach nrg_qbz has done in his first year with the Bulldogs is nothing short of amazing. QB Tyler Russell leads the nation in passing. HB Shawne Alston leads the nation in rushing. Will any of that matter once they go against big, bad Alabama?

MSU came out firing in the opening drive and moved down the field methodically. However, Russell would throw his only INT of the game while trying to avoid Alabama defenders in the backfield. Alabama would capitalize by running it up the gut time and time again before Trenton Richardson punched the ball in for the first score of the game. The Bulldogs would answer back with a touchdown of their own. A back and forth scoring affair saw MSU heading into halftime with a 15-14 lead. "We knew we could win the game because we didn't even hit our stride, and yet we were leading at halftime," said Russell. "Coach didn't need to say anything to motivate us at the half. This was Bama. We knew what was at stake."

The kickoff at the beginning of the third quarter was huge for MSU, as they forced an Alabama fumble and returned it for a TD. Alabama's Richardson would score another TD on a short run, but as Alabama found out, the MSU offense just keeps hammering away, this time with backup RB Montrell Conner running in for a score. After another Alabama TD, the Bulldogs answered the call with an electrifying 102 yard TD return by WR Brandon Heavens. A stunned Alabama team took the field after the score, only to lose the ball after another forced fumble. RB Alston would score on a dazzling 19 yard TD run. MSU scored 28 points in one quarter against Alabama, a team that gives up less than 15 points per game all season. "Our guys were relentless. We were able to take the hits and keep on coming back at em," said Alston. "They didn't want to get up off the mat after that kickoff return for a TD. We could see it in their eyes."

Alabama would cut the score to a 9 point deficit with 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter, but MSU would drain the clock before scoring a TD of their own. The most impressive display of effort came in the final quarter with just a minute left. Alabama faced a first and goal from the MSU 1 yard line, yet MSU stuffed Richardson four straight times. "It's a game of inches and we just wanted it more. We're not the doormats in the SEC anymore," said coach nrg_qbz.

    Lobos 27 Oregon Ducks 13

The Lobos reached season goal #1 with a victory over Oregon in Albuquerque to become bowl eligible for the second straight year. The Ducks had no answer for the Lobos passing game as Lobo QB Tarean Austin would throw for 331yds and 2 scores. With the help of dominating second half defense, Oregon would be held scoreless in the 3rd and 4th quarters sealing their fate as New Mexico cruise to the 14 point victory. Lobo will enjoy the victory before heading into bye week practice which will see a focus on fundamentals and treatment of injuries. After the bye the Lobos head to SoCal to face San Diego State.
