Bama just had too much fire power on offense, forced a fumble, and then one punt, and I think I have a pretty good defense.

Heisman runner-up Darian Godfrey did not have his best day accuracy wise, due to intense Penn State pressure, but no turnovers and it was the difference.

    Coaches thoughts after the game
"It was a great and I'm sure Tim [Montgomery, New HC] will continue the tradition I started, I'm happy for the players and my staff, we prove once again we are one of the better teams in the nation."

    Colorado, Minnesota or Conneticut?
"This is not about me or my future right now, I'm going to enjoy my Sugar Bowl Championship as a New Mexico Lobo!!!!!"

Mississippi State Loses in OT Against Michigan

This was a tough game to swallow, as MSU turned the ball over 5 times (3 INT's, 2 fumbles) while Michigan played mistake-free football. On top of that, MSU's receivers dropped the ball an amazing ELEVEN times. The Bulldogs managed to score the tying TD in the fourth quarter with less than 30 seconds on the clock to force OT. Tyler Russell, who finally made his way back from the injured list, threw for almost 500 yards and had 5 TD's, but it was his 3rd pick in OT that would doom the Bulldogs. Michigan would kick a FG to take the victory.

Coach nrg_qbz was visibly upset after the game. "These boys played tough all year, and to go out like this is obviously disappointing," said coach nrg_qbz. When pressed on whether he would return to the team next year, he had no comment. "I'm focused on the kids inside that locker room right now."

Despite leading MSU to consecutive bowl games, coach nrg_qbz had came up short each time and taken two losses. Whether he comes back and tries to continue steering MSU towards an SEC championship is still up in the air.

****Seriously folks, the drops in this game was out of control. Eleven drops? At least four of them were pin-point passes that should have been a TD, yet it just bounces off my WR's fingers even though no one is around them. The turnovers were a little bit unreal too, as two of them came off, yes you guessed it, dropped passes. How I manage to lose by only a fg is beyond me. *sigh*

The game was decided by turnovers as predicted, the only difference was UTEP was on the winning side of that battle. The Miner's were able to force two fumbles and intercept two pass while only giving away one fumble themselves. It was business as usual as the Miner's were able to pound the football and play stingy defense. 7 different people carried the ball for UTEP as Coach Chaotic kept his promise of finding new ways to attack the defense on the ground.
As the season comes to an end, the Miner faithful will be left hanging as the University and the Head Coach will sit down this week to talk about a contract extension. Things are looking pretty bleak for the Miners as several big name schools have already contacted the University about the services of their coach.
