DESPITE FIVE TURNOVERS BOBCATS ARE CONFERENCE CHAMPS

Terrible back to back INTs by 2 QBs didn't stop the Bobcat running game from continuing its dominance over their opponent. RB Howard Johnson led the way with 185 yards and 1 TD, followed by another 96 yards and a TD by Rowe. Coach BP wins the first conference championship in FBS for Texas State. There are rumblings that he may be on the short list of many ADs of top schools following his turnaround Texas State who was a 1* program just 4 short seasons ago. If the offers come, BP will have to decide whether he wants to stay with Texas State and continue building them into a Texas power or move onto new challenges. All will be known in a few short weeks.

    Utah Comes Up Roses

    Utes Blowout Ducks 63-28

Salt Lake City, UT- Oregon should know that a TD a quarter isn't enough to keep up with the high flying Utah offense. In their first meeting this season the Ducks defense forced turnovers and that kept them in the game. This time they forced 2 interceptions, but that wasn't enough to keep them close.

Utah has ground out impressive numbers all season long, and this week against Oregon was no different. Utah ended up with 655 yards of offense with 470 yards on the ground. The rushing attack was excellent all day despite losing the Pac 12 leading rusher, Troy McCormick early in the first with a concussion. McCormick finished with 3 carries for 19 yards, but Brandon Cox, Richard Lee, and Lui Silva picked up the slack and all 3 topped the 100 yard mark.

The defense was good enough to win, and against the Oregon fast break spread that's about all the coaches could ask for. Utah wasn't able to force any turnovers, but they slowed the Ducks attack down enough for the offense to be in a position to win.

With the win Utah clinched the Pac 12 title, and the automatic berth into the Rose Bowl. Normally the Pac 12 champion would get to play the Big 10 champ in Pasadena, but Ohio State figures to take on UCF in the National Title game. The presumptive opponent should be the Ohio Bobcats, but we won't know until the BCS selections are announced in a few days.
