I figure I'd put a list together. We never voted on our season 1 MVP, I think it was between Fountain and Herschel Walker. Year 2, we didn't do anything, although I may claim it for Matthew Thomas . So here's stats through week 5: 1. Gemara Anderson, HB Virginia Tech. 78 carries for 485 yards, 13 rush TD, rec. TD 2. TJ Yeldon, HB Alabama. 86 carries for 477 yards, 13 TD 3. Carson Palmer, QB Georgia. 69-93 for 1,352 yards, 13 TD, 4 INT 4. Kelvin Benjamin, WR Florida St. 37 receptions for 529 yards, 6 TD 5. Kyle Brown, QB Virginia. 98-140 for 1,257 yards, 11 TD, 9 INT, 163 rush yards, 4 TD 6. Rodney Hampton, HB Georgia. 80 carries for 636 yards, 12 TD, 5 receptions for 128 yards, 2 TD 7. Johnny Football. 78-118 for 1,086 yards, 7 TD, 8 INT, 49 carries for 357 yards, 6 TD 8. Tyson Fountain, QB Notre Dame. 90-121 for 1,193 yards, 9 TD, 5 INT, rush TD 9. Kent Taylor, TE Florida. 40 receptions for 612 yards, 7 TD, 3 tackles 10. Trey Williams, HB Texas A&M. 69 carries for 509 yards, 7 TD, 16 receptions for 224 yards Tough list to put together, I'll update it when it clears up in a few weeks. And I'll put defensive players in the next list.
I would argue for Yeldon but I don't think his the valuable. He got injured last season and my other backs stepped right in and we didn't miss a beat. I'm also sharing more if his carries with the other guys this season, so his stats won't be eye popping or anything.
Fountain has been damn good in user games this season. Against the CPU on the other hand, he throws as many picks as TDs...
It's funny I had Walker and Hampton for 2 years together. Now Walker left school early for the NFL so now Hampton is getting most of the load. Trying to pass more with my Soph Carson Palmer Jr. as to create a balanced attack so it should be interesting for the Heisman.
Well..you can cross Gemara Anderson off the list. He is out six weeks with a torn pectoral muscle (I think). Any chances he had for awards are gone.
Cross fountain off too.... 4 ints on the clemson side of the field, three of them inside the 20..... No mystery as to why we lost that game
We know who the top 2 guys are, Hampton and Johnny Football. After that, it's a jumble and whoever emerges will most likely need to win a few user games towards the end of the season. After Midnight GMONEY 15 1. HB Rodney Hampton. Georgia Sr. 156 carries for 1,148 yards, 21 TD, 10 receptions for 220 yards, 3 TD 2. QB Johnny Football. HB Sam McDonald. LSU So.. 156 carries for 704 yards, 12 TD, 14 receptions for 75 yards
I believe LSU is the only team with a guy on the list who was recruited since we started. That's good in that he's performing, but bad because it shows the lack of skill position depth this team had in season 1.
In no order, the top 7. Johnny Football and Kyle Brown have make or break CCG's. Kent Taylor also plays. HB Rodney Hampton. Georgia Sr. 191 carries for 1,366 yards, 28 TD, 13 receptions for 359 yards, 5 TD, 2 KR TD HB TJ Yeldon. Also I lost the excel sheet I had for the pick'em last year and really don't feel like counting it all. So I guess I'll declare a winner by next year unless somebody else wants to do it.
