Season 4: Signed Recruits, Injuries, Freshman Talk Thread

Even better. Recruits, injuries, and updates on how your freshmen are doing here..

    I'll start..

After playing better in one game of the 2012 season than he did the entire 2011 season, Sophomore WR Craig Hendrix left the game with an abdominal tear. He will be out for 9 weeks. This is a huge blow, but it is giving oppurtunity for Senior Arsenio Curry and Freshman Larry Broooks to step up.

Hendrix compiled 67 yards and a TD on 4 receptions in the win over Notre Dame.

H.Murphy True freshman Starting CB he balled out today he only gave up 1 Reception and they tested the young fella, he got a pick 6.One thing i like about him is that hes 6'2 200 pounds of man child. he can press and take care of the smaller WRs but even when it looks like hes beat those long arms comes into play and knock the ball away.He was definately the bright point to my offseason. 118th recruiting class.

Lost RS FR RB Kyle Davis to back spasms for 2 weeks.
True FR MLB 82 ovr rating Erik Coursey had 8 tackles and 1 TFL in his college debut.
On the recruiting front Houston has intrest from :5stars: 6'6" 225 lb Tackle? Who the hell wants a 225 lb tackle at the D1 level?

Yeah Yella I thought about that but why waste a 5 star recruit (I can only have one) on a blocking TE?

Never know he may come with a decent amount of catching.

Plus unless you have another 5star thats willing to look at you i would try it just to see, maybe redshirt him and see how he comes develops.

Lol from Akrons view i would take any talent i can get to build with lol

You could make his a guard if he has a good forty.

edit: btw, I am recruiting a 360lb guard! That is by far the heaviest person I've seen on the game

I dont even think i have any true fr playin, a pretty veteran team, which makes losing even more difficult to deal with.

Although, O have realized that my RS fr QB has some flawsm i cant/wont discuss more...haha

It's fucking depressing recruiting with this team. For the most part I don't even manually talk to the players since I don't have any good pitches except for maybe early playing time and location depending on the recruit. I just do quick calls and hope for the best. So to say the least, BG is not going to be competing with anyone for recruits

thats probably the best strategy to start with. Go for an in-state :4stars: that no one has offered and hope you get lucky with the proximity to home pitch.

    Purdue Recruiting News

Purdue moved up to 3rd on :5stars: Jake Hawkins' list. The 6'1" 215lb (#3) OLB reminds Coach K a lot of Marcus Kemp. He comes in with B+ speed, B- tackle, B block shedding, and B+ pursuit. If Hawkins does decide to join the Boilermakers Coach K is garunteeing him a starting spot.

In other news, the Boilermakes dropped out of the race for (#1) OLB Scott Young. Sitting 4th on the :5stars: LB's list, another user in Ball State in the race, and Florida being his #1 choice Coach K decided it was time to give up. We don't have enough time to put into him when he told us he'd likely be going to Florida no matter what because that is what his dad wants.

However, after a couple phone calls, :5stars: (#7) SS Andy Perkins has went from not being interested at all in Purdue to having them 4th on his list. The Boilermakers offered him a scholarship this week, and set him up for a Week 6 visit against Illinois. Coming in with A- speed, B- tackle, C+ man coverage, and B zone coverage Perkins will also be garunteed a starting spot on next year's defense.

Also set up for Week 6 visits:
    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
    Name Pos Int
    Jon White (#13) FS 1st
    Michael James (#15) DT 2nd
    Pierre Alston (#26) WR 1st
    Adam Martin (#34) G 1st
    Connor Estes (#17) C 1st
    Mike Carter (#44) T 2nd
    Pete Butler (#14) DE 4th
    Tanner Baker (#45) OLB 2nd
    Antonio Lynch (#77) OLB 2nd

    Kent signing

Kent State lands its first recruit of the season, and boy is it a big one. Brandon McNair, rated by most scouts as the #2 OLB of his class, is a punishing tackler who is difficult to block and loves to put the hurt on opposing HBs. This is a key signing for the team as Kent bolstered its pass D last off season as is now looking to address the run D.

    Brandon McNair :5stars: :wickywicky:
    6'2" 240
    California

    Column 1 Column 2
    Speed B-
    Tackle B-
    Block Shedding B-
    Agility B-

First 5-star signing of the dynasty for me. This ought to cut down on the broken tackles problem.:D

Yeah, I put him on my board because I figured there was no chance I could get the other OLB I had on my board. I just talked to him for 1 week, and the next week I was #4 on his list.

    Yep, 4.36 40...he's gonna be a stud!

Junior HB Al Terek McBurse is out for 3 weeks with a strained pectoral. This after being named the starter and having a 2 TD performance.

This means Sophomore Josh Williams will be seeing the field a lot more at the backup position, and Freshman Brian Robinson will once again be running the show.

Sophomore WR Craig Hendrix is still out for 5 weeks with an abdominal tear.
