Texas State ran all over Arkansas St, with 4 runners over 70 yards. Unfortunately, starting RB James got injured and is out for the rest of the year. His backups are capable as they continued where he left off, running for a combined 200 yards rushing. The defense came up big too, intercepting 3 passes on the day and getting 3 sacks.

    GOLDEN SWARM

The Golden Panthers of Florida International played hosted to arch rival Florida Atlantic University, This game has a lot at stake for both teams outside of bragging rights for other football season. FIU is playing for a 9 game winning streak and a chance to represent the Conf USA-East in their Conference Championship game.

“With the weather playing a factor in South Florida, We didn’t expect to see the score board lite up with points.”Coach Rowe stated. But we would expect the Defense to play lights out as always.” The Defense dubbed “The GOLDEN SWARM” had an outstanding performance with 9 sacks 2 Int 2 FF and 1 Safety. The Defense did indeed play lights out hold rival FAU to a season low of 175 yards, only 102 yards coming on the offensive side. The “GOLDEN SWARM” held true to the word “DOMINATION” as they held running attack of FAU to just one yard on 30 attempts.

    Defensive Player of the Game
Sophomore Nick Harris 7 solo tackles 5 TFL, 3 Sacks, 1 Safety and 1 FF.

Utah Clinches Pac 12 Title Berth
    [IMG]
    Fans Rush Field to Celebrate

Boulder, CO- The Utah administration did the fans a favor and let them in at Rice-Eccels to watch Saturday's tilt against the Colorado Buffaloes on the jumbotron, a favor not likely to be repeated any time soon, after the fans rushed the field and tore down the goalposts. You'll have to excuse their enthusiasm, since this team won only 2 games last year with Major Applewhite at the helm, and have now won the Pac 12 south for the first time since joining the conference.

Utah was flat out dominant on Saturday. The defense held CU under 100 total yards of offense, and never let them cross the 50. CU couldn't even top 0 yards rushing with (-40) yards rushing and only 135 passing. And Hunter Dimick outclassed the CU offensive line with 5 sacks and 2 sack fumbles (neither of which Utah recovered.)

The victory Saturday looked like a typical Utah win from this season, the special teams came up big, the defense was stout and the offense did anything they wanted to rout the opposition. Justin Harris only had 2 kickoff returns, but he made them both count, literally. He took the kickoff following CU's only score of the day, a returned fumble, and went 96 yards for a score. And he took the second half kickoff 97 yards for a score. Not a bad days work for the presumptive returner of the year.

Offensively the Utes threw the ball well, 15/20 for 198 yards and 2 TD's and ran the ball like they have all season, 38 times for 348 yards. Troy McCormick stretched his league leading total with another monstrous effort with 18 carries for 169 yards and 4 scores and Richard Lee amost topped the 100 yard mark with 10 carries for 99 yards.

Utah is off next week, and no doubt will begin preparing for either the Oregon Ducks or Cal Bears. It's been a down year for the Pac 12, but if Utah wins they will have the chance to defend the conference's honor agains the Big 10.

The players are excited about the opportunity, and took a little time to celebrate Saturday night with the large contingent that made the short trip to Boulder. But they all agreed they haven't won anything yet, and the work to achieve their goal is not done yet.
