    5 Turnovers Doom Texas State

It looked like Coach BP's drought of user game wins may come to an end against a Utah team that wasn't nearly as strong as hornfaninbama's ULL team. It looked good for a half, but then the bottom fell out. Star QB Nixon started out very well tying the game at 14 and then the turnover bug bit him as well as the whole team. 5 total turnovers (3 INTs by Nixon, 1 fumble each from QB Webster and RB Johnson). So the drought continues. It looks like this season has the makings of the last few seasons... 8 or 9 wins and 4 or 5 losses. Something that wouldn't be acceptable at Nebraska, but is very welcome at upstart Texas State. (LOL)

    A Freshman Will Lead Them!

Ohio took on a new and improved North a Texas team, new as in this team has improved! Ohio started the game slow and it seemed that the woes would continue as North a Texas lead 10-0 with 2 minutes to go in the first.
Coach Brown had to act fast, after calling a timeout to regroup Ohio out together a solid drive to end the first quarter down 10-7. Going into the second Ohio seemed to still drag their feet and couldn't really get out of the slump. Norton a Texas went back up 17-7 with about 5 to go in the half. Ohio got the ball back and came to life driving down the field lead by freshman QB Mike Smith making it 17-14 NT. North Texas came out with 3 to go in the half and Ohio forced a quick 3 n out! Ohio put together another solid drive making it 21-17 Ohio. North Texas came back out trying to get on the board on more time before giving it back to Ohio to start the second half, NT came out and threw a pick on the first play giving Ohio the ball back with less than a minute to go in the 1st half, Ohio would convert yet again going into the locker room up 28-17 on the Mean Green. Ohio came out the second half firing putting up another score to make it 35-17, at this point it seemed all but over for North Texas, but they would not let up without a fight. Ohio would escape this game 51-44 to get their first win on the season! Ohio has a bye this coming week and they will try to tighten up loose ends before their next opponent FIU, this will be the first meeting for the two coaches SunofGod5
Ohio improves to 1-1 on the year.
    Until next time Go Cats!
