I am in the process of buying a car and I am supposed to sign papers tomorrow. It just depends on what time I get back from Birmingham. My girlfriend is working tomorrow night so I know I'll be free then.

Cavaliers earn another as they beat Penn State 34-21. This was indeed a great game, both teams struggled on offense all day. Two big plays saved the Cavaliers including a 78 yard screen TD pass to Shepherd, and a 62 yard run by Shepherd to seal the game. It was a fun game and sometimes aggravating. The Cavaliers take on the Cornhuskers next week.

Penn State Can't Finish Against Cavaliers

One play will live on in the minds of PSU faithful for a while - the final play for Penn State on the day. 4th down with 10 to go. Jones dropped back and threw it over the middle and it was swatted away. After he let it go, he could see that Belton had beaten his man and was streaking wide open down the sidelines. If he had waited just 1 more second, he would have seen him. For PSU fans - all will be asking what if he made the catch. Penn State played admirably, surprising most of the media in attendance. All was not bad however, as Freshman Joel Davis looked great in his 2nd game, catching 3 balls for 115 yds and a TD. Ryan Moore also had a great game 15 carries for 108 yards and a TD, on a 79 yard run.

This sums up my reaction after watching that 4th down over again....

    #12 Wake Forest 35
    @
    Nebraska 7

The Deacons go into Lincoln and beat the Huskers by a handful. Despite not forcing a turnover, Wake outscored a very talented Nebraska team by 4 touchdowns on a rainy day in the Cornhusker State. The play of the game may very well have been the first touchdown. Facing 3rd and ten from their own 4 yard line, QB Kevin Sousa rolled out and Husker defenders pounced on him, dragging him down as close to a safety as you can apparently be. True sophomore and ray guy award winner last year Bobby Jackson trotted out onto the field with one play in mind. Jackson took the long snap and slinged the ball to linebacker Bryson Johnson who was streaking down the middle of the field without anyone around him due to the Huskers going for an all out block attempt. Johnson would dodge Nebraska return man Aaron Green and race 99 yards to the endzone. Nebraska would answer on their next drive, but after that it was all Wake as they would score on two big plays- a 56 yard streak up the middle of the defense by freshman speedster Bobby Carroll ( CoachRedd told ya ;) ), and Mark Bradley would take a well executed middle screen 61 yards to the house- giving Wake a 21-7 lead going into the break. Terrance Campbell would take a jet sweep 51 yards to the house to put Wake up 28-7, and Orville Reynolds ripped off a 68 yard dash to put the icing on the cake for Wake in the fourth quarter.

Sousa finished 4-9 for 139 yards, 2 scores and an interception. Punter Bobby Jackson finished with a QB rating of 1,261.6 on his 1-1 passing for 99 yards and a score. Reynolds tallied 143 yards on the ground and a score. The junior has been superb so far this year filling in for departed senior Josh Harris, and Reynolds is well on his way to 1,000+ yards season and 10+ TDs. 5 different Wake receivers all caught a ball, with LB Johnson going for 99 yards and a score, Bobby Carroll and his 56 yard TD, John Garcia with 14 yards, Mark Bradley for 61, and Terrance Campbell with an 8 yard snag.

Defensively Wake didn't have anyone stand out too much, except maybe Zachary Allen at LB who had 8 tkls with 1 sack.

Nebraska QB Brion Carnes finished with 11-24 passing for 151 yards and 0 TDs. HB Bret Davis racked up 99 yards on 22 attempts behind some powerful running, and Adam Gore added 45 yards on the ground on 8 runs.

A Big win for Wake as they will have a bye week before hosting a very good Michigan Wolverines team.

Good game to you to Kasper. That fake punt killed me. And my poor clock management gave you another one. This is a game that turned on 2 mistakes by me. I feel like I am getting better though. I think I'll be more competitive this year.
