    #19 Clemson drops #25 GT 41-7:

#25 Georgia Tech came into Memorial Stadium in hopes of their losing streak but they fell short, yet again, in blowout fashion. The only highlight of the game for the Yellow Jackets came on the opening kickoff when All-American Junior WR Tremaine Faulk broke for a 97 yard TD. After the spectacular TD the Yellow Jackets could not keep up with the high flying offense of Clemson. Again QB Tony McNeal threw for 300+ yards and 2 TDs, hooking up with WR Sammy Watkins for a 82 yd TD and RB Mike Bellamy for a 55 yd TD pass. The player of the game was rewarded to RB Mike Bellamy and rightfully so. He racked up 119 rushing yards on 20 attempts with 3 TDs and 1 reception for 55 yds and 1 TD. GT just did not have an answer.

The defense played well holding the Jackets to -4 rushing yards, and sacking the QB 6 times. Even though the Tiger defense didn't nab a pick or scooped up a fumble they still played very well. The only down spot on this team so far is Special Teams. It has been rumored that Coach Burgdorff will re-evaluate and make the needed changes to get them back on track.

Clemson travels to Happy Valley next week, to take on B1G foe Penn St.

    Maryland Scrapes by Duke 49-21

The game started like every other game in the Vic Mackey era with the Terps taking a 14-0 lead, thanks in part to a strong running performance. Then in the second quarter Duke struck back, scoring 21 points in 2 minutes and 19 seconds. The final play of the half was a fumble on a sack that was scooped and scored to tie the game at 21 at the half. When a sideline reporter tried to get Coach Mackey's attention for an interview he was shoved out of the way by the coach as he ran to the locker room. It has been said that Mackey had a come to Jesus meeting with his team in the locker room at the half. When asked for a comment on what was said a player responded "Every version of every cuss word at least 50 times."

The second half was a completely different game as Maryland shut out Duke and scored 28 points behind a bruising rushing attack. The term bruising was used by Mackey to describe his team because quote "We're too slow to blow by you, so it's 3 yards and a cloud of dust." Mackey credited the switch to the 4-2-5 as being a factor in improved defense this week. But Maryland still has a lot to improve on, especially their anemic passing attack. The offensive line gave up three sacks to Duke on only 11 pass attempts. Troy Jones was 6-11 for a paltry 75 yards. At least the running game looked good, racking up 379 yards and 7 TDs. It's clear what Maryland needs to work on as the season progresses, the question is can problems be fixed before they face the meat of their schedule.

"All I have to say is that we won, it wasn't pretty but a wins a win. After last game I said I was gonna go home and drink a bottle of Jack, well now I'm gonna go home and drink a bottle of Jim Beam because Jack don't pay me nothing. You're looking at the new face of Jim Beam fellas." Coach Mackey said as he walked out of the locker room. Can this blunt, charismatic coach bring Maryland to a good season, or will his fate end up like the foot loving Rex Ryan?

    Michigan 21
    Alabama 12

Michigan escapes Alabama. Justice Hayes was loss for the game, and the Michigan offense looked out of sync all day. Devin Gardner overthrew receivers the entire ball game, and a fumble by one of his receivers made this one a very close game. Michigan is lucky to pull out a win, not good considering they travel to Wisconsin for a big game this upcoming week.

They almost beat me... had the ball on the 2 with a 4th and 1 with 1 min left to play. However, I stopped their cheesy read option and called it a day.

Nearly Perfect Defense Paves Way For Big Win

The PSU defense completely demolished the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday afternoon. Behind a 13! sack day for the team, Indiana was out of the game by halftime as both sides of the ball finally got it together. The defensive line also caused 2 fumbles, one that was returned for a TD. The secondary also made 2 interceptions. On the day, Indiana had -56 yards rushing.

The offense behind QB Paul Jones moved the ball at will. Jones made some great throws, specifically a 47 yard over the shoulder TD with 1 second left before half that gave the Nittany Lions a 38-6 lead. The 1st-3rd string RBs had 100+ yards each, with the whole team rushing for a total of 381 yards and 6 TDs.

Penn State has a tough test next week when they play Clemson.
