Talk about your candidates for MVP award and at the end of the season we will vote on best offensive and defensive players of the season.

For Ohio State no one has really stood out this season. Larry Walters had a terrific game against Florida State in the loss but struggled at times against Penn State. In the CPU games he rarely plays past the 2nd quarter and I have been anti-stat whoring with him. Most of my short touchdowns have been scored by the run game. This should mean Roderick Smith would be a candidate but he was terrible in both user games this season.

On defense it is hard to pinpoint any single player. Ross Hand has a couple picks but he was burned countless times in FSU game. Safeties Jesse Allen and Jeff Cox have piled up tackles but that is mostly because of poor pass coverage and run defense. I can't think of anyone in my front seven who has played strong this year.

Bump. Probably time to discuss this (brave, can you delete that thread I created on accident in the league archive?)....

    FSU candidates

Offensive MVP - QB Brenton Newby, the straw that stirs the drink for the offense. 5th in the nation in passing yards (2,745) and 4th in TD passes (28) with only 8 INTs. He also has 366 yards rushing and 7 TD's on the ground. The team is undefeated, and he has performed well in user games. User game results - win vs Okl St (10-11 for 133 yards, 2 TD, 5 carries for 39 yards), win vs UCLA (13-17 for 175 yards, 0 TD/0 INT), win vs Ohio St (25-35 for 375 yards, 3 TD/1 INT)

I will post detailed stats later but I have a few candidates

    Offense
QB Larry Walters - 2,500 yards passing and around 25 TD passes, also 3 or 4 rushing TD's
TE Antonio Murray - 1,000 yards receiving and leads team in receptions

    Defense
DE Matt Cummings - 14 or 15 sacks and like 25 tackles for loss
CB Ross Hand - 7 or 8 interceptions

    MVP Candidates thru WK13

    Offense:
SOPH-RS HB J.R. Davis: 191 carries 1475 yards with 26 TDs. Has become one of the best backs in the country and is currently 2nd overall in rushing. Runs well between the tackles and has enough speed to get to the edges.

    Deffense:
SR-RS DE Jackson Jeffcoat: 32 tackles / 19 tackles for loss / 12 sacks. Has been a solid anchor on the left side of the d-line.

Not to toot my own horn here, but I think Brent Wright has the best all around numbers so far this year.

    Nebraska - through Week 13

    Offense
    QB Brent Wright - (RS)JR
    169/254 for 2557 yards, 30TD 11INT
    114 carries for 927 yards, 14TD

    3484 yards 44TD total

Well on his way to 3000 passing, 1000 rushing, and 50TD

Personally, I think anyone who is going to put forward their players for consideration should take the time to post their stats in user games as well (I plan on doing so tonight or this weekend). Guys who put up big numbers only in CPU games aren't MVP's in my book.

Agreed so I will wait till I boot up the 360. Looking for scores on Dynasty Wire makes me want to break things.

Doing anything on IE makes me want to punch things. I'm glad to be off work and in front of Google Chrome.

Penn State doesn't really have 1 stand out player, I think our success is more of an overall team effort. But here are the team leaders:

    QB Mike Dixon 244.6 rat 1678yds 25TD 4INT 68 comp%
    WR Alex Kenney 61rec 1214yds 14TD

    CB Paul Brown 26tak 5INT 1TD
    LB Khairi Fortt 58tak 9sack 1 FF

I updated my post with user game stats for Newby. I removed Jeremy Miller as a candidate, as he was pretty much a no show in user games.

Anyone else going to post user game results for their players? Asking Brave to do it is kind of lame, since it's a pain in the ass to do it for 5-6 players.

If Brave doesn't want to run this, I can, but I won't include anyone as a candidate if their coach doesn't want to take the time to post his user game results.

Brave, let me know if you'd like me to take this over for you.

@Dru50 - I will post mine tonight when I get home. I have been killed in 3 of 4 users games so my user stats will be unimpressive. This year has been so disappointing :(

@Dru50 - yeah if you can run it that would be great. People should post their own candidates and all we need to do is organize the posts. Once we have the candidates we can start a vote. I suggest public voting rather than the Perry method of locking the thread and making users send votes via PM. :)

    Agreed Brave.

OK, guys here is the deal:

We'll do an offensive and defensive MVP. Each team may submit one player for each award, but if you do not post the user game stats for the player he will not be considered.

Everyone has until Sunday night to post your players and their stats to date. At that point I will post a 5 man ballot for each award and we'll have votes cast publicly. You will not be able to vote for your own players.

    sean salas, hb, 198 carries, 1416 yards, 7.1 ypc, 18 touchdowns, 8 catches, 86 yds, 10.7 ypc, 1 td

    --penn st - 10 carry, 71 yds, 7.1 avg, 1 td

    --texas - 23 carry 79 yds, 3.4 avg, 1 catch, 18 yards

    --wash st - 15 carry, 224 yds, 14.9 avg, 4 tds, 1 catch, 2 yards

    --user avg - 16 carry, 124.7 yds, 7.8 avg

--we had four running backs contribute this season which really hurt salas' stats but the kid is a beast. even in his "bad" user game he controlled the clock and the game allowing us to send the defending champs into an epic downward spiral.

I'm going to hold this open for candidates until the bowl games are done, since there are a couple candidates who could be impacted.

To each of you who posted your user game stats - thanks, and please update the stats for your bowl game if you can.

For those who haven't posted a candidate, you have until Tuesday night.

I may have to change mine as Massey had a good game in the bowls.
