I just had 3 players try to go to the draft:
2nd round-91 ovr SS Kevin Mason
4th round-Nag/Bedn/Thorpe winner 89 ovr FS Jevon Murphy
7th round-85 ovr DE Tyrone Johnson

I promised Mason he'd be a 1st rounder if he stayed and I just told the others they should get their education or they'll be shining my shoes some day. All three are coming back.

    Other Players Entering NFL Draft:

Brown SR QB Running Water 5th round
Dartmouth JR SS Grant 5th round
Georgetown SR WR Cummings 3rd round

    Transfers:

Bucknell DT Washington transfering to Temple for PT
Cornell HB Washington trans to UNM for PT
Georgetown HB Anderson trans to Purdue for PT

*****Players in RED can be swayed.

I'll move on to Week 1 sometime tomorrow late afternoon.

Good for Running Water, clearly the better QB in the NFL's eyes.

Man I remember back in the day when this was Hard4Yards you couldn't sway All Americans.

We should probably talk about that since it'll be a steady stream of recruits going pro from here on out.

    Our options:
    • Go by overall rating (bleh, we have draft grades now)
    • Go by AA status (^^^)
    • Disallow sways of players projected to go in the 1st round (a lot of schools do this irl)
    • Disallow sways of players projected in the top 3 rounds
    • Disallow players declaring for the draft, no matter their grade

    • Go by overall rating (bleh, we have draft grades now) 95+
    • Go by AA status (^^^) Yes
    • Disallow sways of players projected to go in the 1st round (a lot of schools do this irl) Yes
I'd be cool with a lower OVR maybe 90, I think disallowing any from going pro is a meh. Maybe no swaying (RS)Junior?

Howard will not have to concern themselves with this for a very long time, but figure any projected first rounder should be allowed to go. Not sure any others shouldn't be open to persuasion, imo.

My thought process... Any projected first/second rounder with an overall of 90+ should be allowed to leave without persuasion to stay.

I think we should scrap the AA thing for now. I say we go with 1st or 2nd round draft grade + RS JRs. Let's make it easy instead of having to look up if a player made AA that year or not (we may or may not have the history done).

My FS won every award but was only projected 4th round and my SS didn't win shit but was 2 points better overall and was projected 2 rounds higher, so that should tell us something. Draft grades are based on overall ratings.

It wouldn't let me quote The Deuce's Position Change rules so I just copied it and added to our Description. Here they are.

    Position Change Rules:
    • FB: Must be at least 230 lbs, no taller than 6'2 and no faster than 84
    • TE: At least 225 lbs, at least 6'2 and no faster than 86
    • DT: At least 265 lbs
    • DE: At least 240 lbs, 6'2 and no faster than 83
    • OLB: At least 215 lbs and no faster than 85
    • MLB: At least 225 and no faster than 85
anything to add? I want to add some rules about height so we don't see 6'4 215 lb SSs being converted to OLB. 6' 215 is fine but 6'4 215 isn't realistic.

Thoughts or concerns regarding moving TE to WR? I tend to look for receiving TEs as potential WRs to increase the pool of potential recruits. For example, Bond on Howard's roster was a TE when I took the team over. Due to lack of depth at WR and a pretty significant jump in OVR I moved him that first offseason.

The trade off I have seen in past is they tend to be slower but have some size (although there are plenty of tall WR they typically are not as big weight-wise). In theory they should be better blockers, though not seen anything to prove that.

Any concerns with continuing to do this? I would ask that this rule be applied after this year's recruiting as it will screw me over with current class. Since it is a new rule, applying it next recruiting class onward would seem fair if there is an issue or limitations that may make me in violation.

No concerns at all. If you want to move a player 'up' in your D (DL to LB, LB to DB) then go for it. Same goes for offense.

If I am understanding the schedule correctly, we will be at position changes tonight at 10pm central, and at 10am you will advance to cuts? I will not be able to get my position changes in at 10pm tonight. I will be able to get this done after work tomorrow, between 4 and 4:30pm central. Can we delay advance to cuts until then?
