Oregon State came into the conference champion game losing twice in their previous two meetings. OSU came out strong on defense picking off UCLA’s QB early on and often. This allowed OSU to jump out to a solid lead. UCLA kept themselves in the game when they took a KO to the house in the first half. The difference in the game was UCLA’s TO ratio to OSU 5-2. UCLA did a solid job in limiting the OSU run game throughout the entire game. OSU had to go to the air more than they wanted to at times. OSU Punter/Kicker was perfect in the kicking game which he nailed a few crucial field goals. Stevenson also added several TB on kickoffs preventing UCLA from attempting to return on deep. OSU was able to finish another incredible season by winning the PAC-12.

OSU shocked many with their youth (only 1 senior on defense and 5 on offense). OSU was project to finish 6-6 at the start of the season. After a week 1 loss, OSU quickly turned things around. To top things off, OSU was one of a few teams that played every single user controlled team this season. This is what makes it more enjoyable winning the Pac-12. OSU has definitely turned things around in their five seasons under Coach Noffke. In the last two years, Coach Noffke has led the Beavers to an impressive 25-3 record including a 1-1 Pac-12 Championship record and two top 10 finishes.
