Mizzou Spoils LSUs Title Run in Baton Rouge A week after suffering their first loss of the season to Arkansas, Mizzou paid it forward. Coach Hennessy and his team travelled to Baton Rouge for a game in Death Valley against the undefeated and 2nd ranked team in the country. Mizzou seemed unconcerned about the home crowd as they came out throwing the ball early and often. After a punt by LSU and then an interception, Mizzou looked poised to run away with this one. Up 14-0 and in the redzone, Mauk found his backup, Jones on an out route for a nice gain, but the safety laid the lumber on him and he coughed it up at the 10 yard line. With new life, LSU managed a Field goal, forced two Mizzou turnovers (1 fumble, 1 INT) and managed another FG before the half to make it 14-6 at the break. LSU had possession to start the second half, but Clark threw another INT, he would have 4 on the day. Mizzou capatilized when Mauk hit Marvin Cooper on a corner route for a 23 yard TD and a 21-6 lead. On the ensuing drive, LSU finally got a nice string of plays together, getting into the Mizzou redzone for the first time all game in the bottom half of the 3rd quarter. Clark would make a hot read against press coverage and throw a quick fade to his WR sensing the impending blitz, but it was a ruse and Mizzou was actually in a cover 2 sink! Hicks would pick the ball off at the 8 yard line to get the ball back for his team. On the very next play Eric Silva took the air out of the death valley crowd. Silva took a counter play from shotgun, made a nice read on his blockers cutting in and then back out before just outrunning the LSU secondary for a 92 yard TD run and a 28-6 lead. LSU would once more drive the length of the field, this time cashing in with a 7 yard TD pass. The 2 point conversion made it a 28-14 game with 5:28 left in the final stanza. This is when Eric Silva goes to work. The senior HB was a brute on the next drive, marching his team downfield with powerful running before punching in a 1 yard TD with 1:19 left to put the game out of reach. Note: we disconnected when I reached first and goal from the 5 with about 1:30 left. Mexi conceded and I finished that last bit vs the CPU. Players of the Game:OLB Larry Scott - the converted safety wreaked havoc on the LSU backfield, 5 of his 9 tackles were for a loss, 3 of them sacks.HB Eric Silva - 16 carries for 176 yards and 2 TDs, Eric put this game to bed for us Good Game MexiRican35 , see you next season!

2724 ----Tigers Fall Short, Aggies Go Bowling---- A long season for Auburn continued Saturday night, as Texas A&M came into Jordan Hare and took it to the paper Tigers on the ground. TAMU Qb Matt Davis led the way, rushing 8 times for 90 yards before being hurt late in the 3rd quarter and having to sit out the remainder of the game. Davis only threw for 70 yards, with 1 td early in the first quarter and 1 int. The Aggies used 8 different rushers to compile 170 yards and 2 tds. Auburn played a good overall game and looking at the stats they should've been able to win this one, but 3 total turnovers led to their doom. Graham went a respectable 17-27 for 249 and 2 tds, but threw 2 ints as well and fumbled the ball away on an indecisive 3rd down scramble that effectively ended the game late. On the first drive of the game, Graham threw his first pick. 3 plays later, Davis found wr Johnson over the top for a 39 yard td. TAMU 7-0 A couple drives later, the Tigers marched down to tie it, converting 3 or 4 difficult 3rd downs along the way. 7-7 Midway through the 2nd qtr, I think Auburn threw their 2nd pick and Davis would run a flawless option filled drive, keeping a read, juking out one safety and breaking the tackle of the other for a 41 yard score. TAMU 14-7. Right at the end of the half, Davis would throw a really stupid pick but managed to run down the Auburn defender inside the 5 with only 1 second to play. Auburn elected to settle for 3 and take momentum to the half. TAMU 14-10 After a 3rd qtr field goal by TAMU, things got interesting in the 4th, primarily because Davis went down on the drive and the Aggies no longer controlled the clock the way they wanted too. Auburn tied it up with chunk plays, then TAMU caught Auburn off guard with a wr screen that took them inside the Auburn 40. From there, the Aggie rushing attack marched it in, led by Trey Williams and finished by Peters from 1 yard out. 24-17 TAMU. Then Auburn gave up the fumble on 3rd and 2, setting up the sealing score with an A&M Field goal. Auburn would make it interesting, throwing a Hail Mary into the endzone with 18 seconds left and coming down with it to make the final tally and the onside kick got booted by A&M and stayed on the ground forever before they finally scooped it up in traffic to be able to kneel it out. GG recchem2000 Always a classic between you and I. Always. Too bad your season is sucking. Mine's not much better... But a win vs Mizzou now can save it.
This years Iron Bowl goes to the Auburn Tigers as they defeat the Alabama Crimson Tide 34-23 in Auburn. The Tigers needed this one to become bowl eligible and they played liked they wanted to go bowling! The Tigers offense put 446 yards on the Tide defense while forcing 2 turnovers on defense. Every time Alabama would cut the lead to 10, Auburn would answer. On the ground, the Tigers outgained the Tide 186-23. 22 7 Mizzou downs rival TAMU for the third straight year, this time on the road in College Station. Texas A&Ms defense was excellent in this ballgame, holding the high flying Tigers offense to just 258 yards of offense. The problem for the Aggies is that the Mizzou defense is possibly the best in the nation. Mizzou got off to an early 6-0 lead after a couple of solid drives stalled in TAMU territory. TAMU struck back though, shrugging off three 3 and outs to hit a 69 yard TD strike and take a 7-6 lead into halftime. In the 3rd quarter the Tigers took a 9-7 lead after another stalled drive in FG range. Looking to bounce back, Matt Davis forced a throw that (RS)FR safety Carlos Johnson would snatch out of the air and return to inside the TAMU 10 yard line. A few plays later, Eric Silva would punch in a 4 yard TD to make it 16-7. After forcing yet another punt late in 3rd, Mizzou would take posession. Mauk would find his backup, Jason Jones on a 46 yard throw on only the second play of over twenty yards for the Tigers on the day. That critical play put Mizzou in scoring position and Mauk would put the ball in the air into 1:1 coverage on the outside for Kenan Fenner. Fenner would fight off of the jam, right his body and make a nice grab then he had the wherewithall to hustle across the goalline for a 12 yard TD after making the tough (user) grab on the sideline. After a failed 2 PT conversion it was 22-7 Mizzou. TAMU would drive deep into Tiger territory, capatalizing on a big screen play. but a critical drop of what may have been a TD on third down was followed by a catch just short of the marker on 4th down. The Aggies would get it back one more time after forcing the punt, but backup QB Jason Jones would seal the deal for Mizzou with an INT as the dime CB. After that it was all knees. GG Jayrah Player of the game: Mizzou's defense - Held TAMU to minus 4 rushing yards, 5 first downs (3 were in one 4th quarter drive), and 179 yards of offense total. They sacked Davis 6 times and picked him off twice.
Good game, I was a little out of practice last night, and fumbled my way with the controller hitting the wrong buttons at times. The interception in or near the end zone last night hurt my chances at beating you last night. Scott's was throwing some ducks last night and that one really hurt. Of course I would really like to know what my kicker was doing on those two onside kicks, those were the worst onside kicks I had ever seen. I think both of them went to the closest guy to the kicker in the back row both times. There was absolutely no way my team was recovering those kicks. The first time I thought it was me, after the second time I realized it had to be the game. I immediately went into to practice mode and did five kicks that were all better than what occurred in the game. Apparently crowd noise and pressure can screw up a kicker's onside kick ability. Ugh.
gowazzucougs Like I said last night if you are counting on onside kicks to save you, you're in trouble!
Arkansas 31 LSU 3 Robbins Leads Razorbacks to victory Strong defensive performance for Arkansas. LSU was kept to 120 yards of offense, while Robbin's put up 121 rushing yards, and 132 passing yards to lead the razorbacks to victory.
Aggies win New Mexico Bowl matchup with Wyoming! Not much to report. Davis good, Wyoming pretty terrible. Looking forward to next season, though no Davis, no Brant Lee, No Trey Williams. Looking for ways to insert speed into the backfield will be an interesting project moving forward. 49-10
Free chicken sandwiches for the Tigers. They take care of business against Georgia Tech in their own backyard. Senior Safety Raymond had a career day, nabbing 3 interceptions. The Jackets just could not convert on 3rd down. With the 11th win, that should raise the prestige level one notch. Now all eyes are on Clark as we wait to see what his decision will be. It's gonna be a looooong offseason. #12 LSU 28 - #13 Georgia Tech 7
Auburn chomped up the yards like it was Little Cesar's Pizza, thrashing Ball State 38-6 at Ford Field in Detroit. We had something like 500 yards of offense. The starters sat the 2nd half. Hopefully good things to come next season with all the freshman getting playing time this season...but I doubt it. We will still likely suck.
Arkansas 34 Florida 7 Arkansas claims SEC Title Game started off as a see saw battle but late in the second Arkansas exploded. Capping a long TD drive, with 2:32 remaining in the first half. Then after a brief Florida possession Arkansas scored another TD on a short field with 1:14. After a Florida punt Arkansas tried to squeeze another score in before half but Robbins deep ball was picked at the Florida twenty. Florida tried to make something happen with 6 seconds remaining, but the results were disastrous as his deep ball was picked and returned for a TD which broke the hearts and minds on the Florida sideline.
Arkansas 27 Missouri 10 Missouri played tough for the full 28 minutes. Missouri's defense did a good job of containing Robbins early only allowing one long TD drive in the first half. But SR star WR Sean Wright Destroyed a bump coverage without a safety over the top for a 73 yard score. Going into the half Mizzou was down 14 but receiving the second half kick. After trading possessions and sacking the crap out of Robbins. Mizzou put together a strong hurry up offense score to cut the lead to 7. Mizzou continued to sack Robbins forcing a 3rd and 15 from the Mizzou 45. Rather than risk another sack Robbins ran a QB wrap and carried 2 defenders across the first down line. This seemed to revitalize the Arkansas offense and the game sealing TD soon followed. In what was a dominated season, this may have been the only game Arkansas was forced to run there normal offense the entire game. Missouri had a less talented team, but learn a lot from the first meeting and gave one of the greatest collegiate teams of all time a run for there money. Well played. also 9 user games is exhausting.
Alabama 41 UCF 31 Alabama's Richard Scott finished his freshman season with a bang. He threw for almost 400 yards and 4 touchdown passes as the Tide's aerial attack took down the the Knights. Wide Receivers Anthony Cooper and Michael Burks caught over 100 receiving yards while both scored one TD.
Cheez maybe that's what we all should do. A bit more challenging. Unfortunately I really love playing defense...
Then supersim offense? Quite frankly, I do it because I can't stand playing the CPU. So I put up points and hope my defense did enough. Sadly, it didn't
