I will let him post the recap. Things were looking my way until a nasty fumble, then I completely lost momentum and couldnt do anything right after that.
Season 5 SUPER BOWL
The Chicago Bears got on the board first as they received the opening kickoff and drove the field and Ryan Lindell banged home a 42 yard field goal. The Chicago Bears defense then forced a quick Tennessee punt. The Bears offense then would try to strike fast and extend their lead but rookie QB Alec Ford would make a terrible throw across the middle of the field and it would be picked off by Titans MLB E.J. Owens and taken back 37 yards for a TD. The Titans defense would then force a Bears punt and drive down the field and with 2:34 the Titans would get a 19 yard TD from backup HB Wayman Nixon and take a 14-3 lead. Once the Bears got the ball their drive was just about stalled as they faced a 3rd and very long. The Bears then got a huge play as Ford threw one up deep to TE Jamie Brooks and he would haul it in for 71 yards and a couple plays later HB Antavio Bolton would punch it into the endzone from 1 yard out making the score 14-10 with 51 seconds left in the half. On the ensuing possession the Bears would get another huge play as OLB Lance Briggs would lay a big hit on Titans HB Nixon and force a fumble which was recovered by Brian Urlacher deep inside Titans territory. With 9 seconds left the Bears would take the lead on a fade route from Ford to Brandon Marshall from 2 yards out and the Bears would take a 17-14 lead into the half.
The Bears would take the momentum from the 2nd quarter into the second half as the only score in the third quarter was another 1 yard Antavio Bolton touchdown giving the Bears a 24-14 lead midway thru the 3rd. Chicago's defense would play great in the 2nd half and keep the Titans offense off the field for most alot of the 3rd and 4th quarters. The Bears put together a big drive in the 4th as they would convert alot of big 3rd downs and eat up alot of the remaining clock, and that drive would end in a 42 yard Lindell FG giving the Bears a 27-14 lead with 2:46 left in the game. Bears SS Dea'jon Wright would end the Titans hope of a comeback with an interception and the Bears would run out the rest of the clock for a 27-14 victory.
Rookie QB Alec Ford was named Super Bowl MVP as he had 265 yards on 18 of 31 passing with 1 TD and 1 int. HB Antavio Bolton was held in check for most of the game as he ended up with 58 yards on 23 carries and 2 TDs.
GG Jmustang1968 game was really going your way until that lucky bomb i got and that fumble really turned the game my way going into the 2nd half.
