Titans win 2nd straight vs Patriots 27-14 This week Titans would face the New England Patriots. A new look to them, at least in the eyes of the Titans owner, with QB Jermauria Carter. Titans had little to say on defense in the first half as it would seem that the Titans were playing flat and couldn't stop anything. They were running on them, in what coach says 'seems they were holding a lot but who's to say'. Sproles had lanes and opportunities just as Houston did in week 1. 'We will get this addressed soon' words from the defensive coordinator. Rookie LB'er Andrew Mack would turn in another solid performance with 5 tackles. He is a strong player who is looking to gain experience. Titans have him starting over a proven guy in Zach Brown but seem to like what Andrew Mack brings. He does miss plays and tackles that Brown wouldn't but just brings more upside at the moment. Until then he will start. Veteran CB Brandon Browner turned in 2 late int's to lock up the game. 1st one would have been enough but couldn't pick up the first to end the clock so he got another one to really lock the game up. Derrick Morgan turned in two sacks but other than that the D-Line was ghost the whole game, more needs to be fixed here. Offensively, the Titans seem to be on a roll with 2nd year starter James Carroll throwing really well. Following a great performance in week 1 he would throw his first INT of the year on a 'chuck and pray' ball. He had his 6'5 WR down the field just got out jumped for the ball. It happens, we are moving on and looking for new ways to get him involved. Carroll seems to have a great relationship with WR Kenny Britt as he turned in his 4th TD in 2 games after today. The unknown mystery of the running backs continues. All four running backs (Chris Johnson, Javon Ringer, Jamie Harper and Nate Favors) all got touches yet again, this game though CJ had 15 while Ringer and Co combined for 7. Seems CJ has the spot but if he slips and has a bad game it could be different.
20 - 33 In their home opener the Giants welcomed NFC East rival Dallas in a game the Giants hope to use to build on last weeks win over Arizona. The Giants kept with their ground and pound approach as they rushed for 184 yards on the day. HB Micheal Smith had another nice day as he rushed 21 times for 155 yards. Eli once again had an efficient day as he went 11 for 20 for 174 yards and 2 Tds but did throw 1 Int. The Giants defense held the Cowboys rushing attack in check only allowing 61 yards on the day. Tanner Hurns kept Dallas in the game as he passed for 248 yards and a TD.
