Penn state Crushed in home opener..48-35 Vs Tennessee. More to come..
Two quarterbacks throw 8 interceptions..and the QB coach was fired after the game..hopefully this isn't the beginning of a long season
MICH ROLLS IN OPENER
The Michigan Wolverine starting defense did it's job in holding Ole Miss to just 3 points through 3 qtrs. The 2nd string did give up 14 quick points when Ole Misswent hurry up but by then Michigan had built a 28-3 lead and cruised to a 38-14 victory. Marcus Thompson was shaky through the air only completing 6 of his 16 attempts but was electric on the ground with 124 yards on just 7 carries and 2 TD's.
Ole Miss never threatened after keeping the game respectable at 14-0 through the first half. The 3rd qtr was their downfall however as Mich scored 14 more and was knocking on the door for another when the qtr ended.
The Wolverines have back-to-back top 10 games against rival ND and WVU weeks 2 & 3.
Starting RightBuckeyes start their 2015 campaign on a high note.
Edward Chambers starts his Senior Season off right.
Complete domination happened in the Shoe today as the #11 Ohio State Buckeyes hosted the Toledo Rockets. Players have come and gone. New ones have filled those voids and it showed today. A QB, RB and 2 WR's all new stepped in today in debut starts. Phil Harrison, a JUCO RS Junior at the quarterback position. Edward Chambers, a RS Senior who has seen some clock in his career but nothing big. Sam Manning and Deon Hill will try to make up for the loss of Corey Brown and Ross Hunter. They all did enough today for the Buckeyes to get the victory. Each helping out when needed. We are going to need our Tight End Kevin Anderson to stay healthy as he got hurt for 2 quarters in this one after being injured for almost all of last season.
The Buckeyes did their part on offense and defense but held the Rockets in check with only 161 yards total offense. 159 of those coming through the air. Our offense performed well inside the red zone but wasn't flawless as we kicked 3 field goals and managed 2 touchdowns. Big key on the day was no turnovers for us. We also doubled the time of possession. Phil Harrison went 10-18 for 127 yards and 1 touchdown with no interceptions. Edward "Scissorhands" Chambers ran 19 times for 109 yards and found the end zone once. Calvin McCollum(back-up QB) got some touches and looked very impressive with 4 carries for 17 yards. In the receiving department, Sam Manning pulled in 42 yards with a touchdown on 3 receptions while Kevin Anderson hauled in just a little more with 56 yards on 3 catches. Deon Hill had 2 catches for 15 yards.
Deon Hill goes where no defender can to get a reception.
Can Kevin Anderson stay healthy? If he can, expect more of this.
Great pics CA
Oregon's heralded QB Scruggs rebounded from his disastrous 6-INT performance with a solid, if unspectacular game against Pittsburgh. He completed 13-28 passes for 2 TD's vs 1INT while also showing some nifty footwork on a couple of scrambles. Oregon defeats Pitt by a TD! More to come.
Flying Start for the Trojans
Highly heralded quarterback Vernon Triplett threw three touchdown passes in his starting debut as Southern Cal rolled Colorado 45-10. Triplett threw for 160 yards and ran for 43. The Trojans sprinted out to a 28-0 halftime lead and were never threatened by the visiting Buffaloes.
