After a slow start in their season opener, Boston College picks things up and overwhelms Ole Miss 45-24. Mississippi jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead early in the first quarter and was driving again before Boston College RS FR MLB Dane Wheeler made a huge play and took an interception back for a touchdown.

Once Ole Miss got the ball back, they would answer back quickly with a 51 yard touchdown from QB Berry to WR Ransom making the score 21-7. Boston College would answer back quickly too as HB Mike Hurst would bust loose for 52 yard touchdown run making the score 21-14.

Boston College would take over in the 2nd quarter, they scored early in the 2nd quarter on a 15 yard touchdown catch by True Freshman WR Andrew Thomas tying the game at 21. They would take the lead with a 5 yard touchdown by TE Rocky Reese. BC would add a FG at the end of the half making the score 31-21 BC at the half.

Ole Miss would be first to strike in the 3rd quarter with a short FG cutting the lead to 31-24. BC would answer back with another TD catch from TE Rocky Reese and take a 38-24 lead into the 4th quarter. BC would get another TD pass in the 4th quarter, this time to WR Chris Ralph making the score 45-24, that would turn out to be the final score as BC would run out the clock and get their first victory of the year.

BC QB Mike Henry would be named player of the game, he finished with 295 yards on 18 of 23 passing with 3 touchdowns.

Next week Boston College has a bye before a big early season game with Florida State.

      #23 USF 30

In a game featuring to fast rising programs, the storyline for the day was turnovers and generally no defense. USF just couldn't keep the ball in there possession, turning it over 4 times. UGA was no better handing over the ball 3 times by way of fumble. The lone difference in the game was definitely the running game of the Bulldogs. USF seemed to have no answer for UGA RB Cedric Thomas, who gouged the Bulls for 152 yard and 2 Td's. The lone bright spot of the day was the play of reserve WR Bobby Lee who pulled down 6 receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown. The Bulls hope to redeem their rough start and make another run at a bowl game next week againt Minnesota.
