49ERS OVERPOWER SEAHAWKS FOR THIRD WIN OF SEASON SAN FRANCISCO - The 49ers reeled off their third win in a row in impressive fashion in Week 6 racking up 469 yards of total offense (252 yds. passing, 217 yds. rushing) and relinquishing a mere 198 yards (153 yds. passing, 45 yds. rushing) of total offense to the opposing offense. For a third week in a row, Rookie Devonta' Monroe was the offensive star for the 49ers. Monroe carried the ball 34 times for 206 yards and scored all five 49er touchdowns. Jeremy Riggs completed 16 passes for 252 yards and surrendered two interceptions with no touchdown passes. Vernon Davis led the 49ers in receiving with 4 catches for 54 yards. On defense, Patrick Willis led the team in tackles with 3 and added 1 sack. Troy Polamalu intercepted two passes, while Kareem Jackson and Reggie Smith added 1 interception each. Seahawks second year quarterback A. C. Jackson had a dismal afternoon completing only 10 of 23 passes for 1 TD and 4 interceptions. Mike Williams led the Seahawks in receiving with 3 catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. Leshoure carried the ball 12 times for 45 yards for the Seahawks, and the Seahawks were led defensively by MLB Jaxon Houston who tallied 8 tackles and forced 2 fumbles.
Panthers just too muchNewton and Co. dominate the Titans 35-19
Panthers head into their Week 7 bye, riding a 6 game win streak to start the season. Aided by the win over the Titans today, the Panthers are looking for great things in the 2016 season. QB Cam Newton is on pace to shatter career records, and team records this year. Not only with his arm but with his legs too. Even though the defense is still trying to find themselves, the Panthers offense has been electrifiying this season. Next up after the bye week is the Washington Redskins
No recaps should have the penalty of the bounty program a 2nd rd pick
Broncos Go Into Lambeau and Come Away VictoriousBroncos 41 - Packers 17 The Broncos got on the board first on a 26 yard pass from Evans to Smith to put them up 7-0 only 2 minutes into the game. That is how the score stood after the first quarter. Then, the broncos added a FG after being stuffed at the goalline 3 times, and were up 10-0. The Packers took their time on the next drive, but were unable to get it into the end zone and had to settle for a FG to make it 10-3. On the ensuing kickoff, k'Twon Brandon took the kick up the middle, shucked a guy and was gone for a 102 yard score making it 17-3. But once again, the Packers would match, as Rodgers hit Jennings on a 53 yard bomb to bring it back to within 7. With under 2 minutes left, the Broncos drove down the field quickly, but didn't have enough time to get it into the end zone and Prater kicked a 21 yard FG as tiem expired to make it 20-10 at the half.In the 2nd half, it was all Moreno...after 8 minutes in the 3rd, the Packers brought the score to within 3 as Rodgers scrambled for 15 yards for a Packer TD, but on the next offensive play for the Broncos, Moreno ran around the left side and all the way to the end zone for a 79 yard TD to extend the lead back to 10 at 27-17. In the 4th quarter, Moreno added 2 more TD's from 2 yards and 5 yards out to give him 166 yards and 3 TD's on the day, and that would give us the final score of 41-17.
That's a great movie....I am going to start a discussion in KnightNoles hijacked movie thread.
DEFENSE PLAYS BIG IN WINJets force 4 turnovers to steal one from the Eagles
The New York Jet defense has been pretty much the same (personel wise) since day one, but the statistics thus far haven't proven it. Coach Forever and his team pride themselves on playing good, solid defense, but have been somewhat exploited this season and thats just not exceptable. The defense hasn't been able to stop anyone and turnovers are at a minimum. A glimpse of old came to pass as The Jet defense forced QB Matt Ryan to throw 4 arrid passes which the Jet offensive took advantage of. New York HB, Octvious Hardy ran for a game high 101 yds on 19 carries and had four rushing td's in the contest. The run defense also came to play; yielding only 26yds on 9 attempts. Once thought to have passed his prime, All Everything, CB Derrell Revis has shown that he still has what it takes to perform at a high level as he has recorded multiple ints for the second time in four games.
Final Score: 35 - 14 Jets
SWAGGER RESTORED IN MINNESOTAVikings defeat Cardinals, 24-10. Youngster Patreon Frederick lays the lumber forcing fumbles. MATT FLYNN THROWS A STRIKE TO PERCY HARVIN AND MANAGES A DECENT GAME. THAT PRETTY MUCH PUT THE GAME OUT OF REACH. A 4 HEADED RUSHING ATTACK KEPT THE CARDINALS DEFENSE ON THEIR TOES. CHRIS IVORY FOUND THE END ZONE TWICE. THEY COMBINED FOR 163 YARDS AND 2 TDS.
