Aggies Get By Cards 48-34 Behind 6 Pass TDs by Muhammed

The game Ball State University Cardinals would not go quietly on a rainy afternoon at Muncie. Four Muhammed interceptions (two of which were pick 6's), and two more fumbles gave BSU hope and a chance to tie with less than 3 minutes to play, but Muhammed would atone for his mistakes in a big way. Six touchdown tosses to 5 different receivers would be the difference. WR Mike Davis caught 4 for 192 and 2 tds to lead Aggies receivers, including the clincher with under 2 minutes to play.

This marks the second game in which the Aggies had a minor scare, as FCS MW took a 3-0 lead into halftime, only to give up 45 unanswered in the second half.

*note - This was a 38-0 ball game in the early 3rd qtr when it froze the first time. It would proceed to freeze twice more before I was finally able to finish one. Stupid GameTrack freezes me all the time vs CPU

    Miami Inches Past Tigers
    Defeat LSU 18-16

In what could only be described as a monumental lapse in judgment, Miami coach Akai Boom sent his offense out onto the field to attempt a two-point conversion with his team tied with the LSU Tigers and a mere 12 seconds left on the clock. The successful conversion of the two-point attempt, prevented what would have likely been one of the worst head coaching mistakes in the history of organized football. Said Coach Boom after the game, after the scoreboard went down entering the fourth, I surely thought the TD put us up one, so I went for two to make it a three-point game. It wasn’t until LSU returned the kick that Coach Mexi looked across the field dumbfounded that I realized this mistake.”

The game itself was a hard-fought affair with little offense, reminiscent of their game the previous year in Miami that the Canes won. With LSU leading 6-3, the first touchdown of the game would occur in the third quarter as Miami HB Joe Sowell would run between the center and RG and right past the blitzing LSU linebacker. Once in the open field, Sowell would outrun the pursuit into the end zone for a 50+ yard TD run.

The Tigers, now trailing 10-6, would steadily move down the field and would retake the lead on a 13 yard TD pass from QB Ben Russell to TE Marque Austin. The Hurricanes, again needing to put a drive together, would instead turn the ball over in their own territory, giving LSU a great chance to put the game away with a touchdown. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the Miami defense rose to the occasion, holding the Tigers to a field goal and a 16-10 lead. Knowing a field goal would be of no use, the Canes’ play calling focused on picking up yards and no negative plays as there was ample time for the team to march the distance of the field. Yet, on second and short, a perfectly executed HB screen allowed the Canes deep into LSU territory. Miami would force the Tigers to use their timeouts in the process, and would score the game-tying touchdown on a pass to back-up C Eric Jackson who had declared eligible just moments earlier in Miami’s Heavy package.

MexiRican35, Good game. Your defense was tough to run against. I really only had the one big run, otherwise, you had my HB bottled up all game long. More than anything, holding you to three field goals once you were in my territory was the key to the game as your offense was able to move on my defense with some success. I’m still not sure how I got to thinking that I was up one when I scored the touchdown, but I’m just glad I made it. Whew!

Reminds me when I lost to Mexi when I thought I was behind and went for 4th and 15 on my side of the field in the last minute of the game... It was actually a tie game... After I failed LSU ran the ball 3 times took the clock down and kicked the game winner. While I was busy kicking myself.

Arkansas offense too much for A&M

Arkansas racks up 263 yards on the ground in route to victory over TAMU. Time of possession favored Arkansas who possessed the ball for nearly 20 minutes. It was really a string of long drives by the Razorbacks that broke TAMUs back. Methodical short gains by HB Barry Vaughn kept pushing the ball up field while qb Ronald Moore converted the occasional 3rd downs. For once the 3-4 defense was able to defend the run. Looks like Arkansas has taken some strides forward since the miami game.

Pretty rough day for A&M qbs, starter Muhammad took a 2 quarter injury then came back to throw a fist full of INTS.

    Auburn 7

Auburn held Mizzou to just 1 offensive TD. Unfortunately for Auburn, the Zou returned two INTs and a punt for TDs in this one. The third play from scrimmage was a pick 6. Then after being forced to punt, Auburn gave up the aforementioned TD drive to go down 14-0. After that Auburn settled in a bit until midway through the 3rd when Scott Sullivan took a punt back 76 yards to break open a 17-7 game and turn it into a route. On the day, Auburn QBs threw 6 ints spoiling a solid effort by their defense.

Miami is throwing SMOKE this year. At least against users they are.

Although Based on the box score it looks like the end of the 2nd quarter got pretty crazy with 3 miami scores in the last 31 seconds. With only 5 Miami first downs, 7 Missouri turnovers, Miami must have been starting most of its drives in FG range.

    Miami Wins?
    Canes defeat #1 Missouri, 19-17

The first half of the game between the Missouri Tigers and Miami Hurricanes was some of the worst football seen in years, with the two teams combining for nine turnovers. Yet, amidst the comedy of errors, the Hurricanes wrote the script to victory with an early defensive stand and a late flash of offense.

Despite turning the ball over on their first three possessions, all inside their own territory, the Hurricanes limited Missouri to only a field goal, helped in part by two Missouri turnovers of their own. Miami would not turn the ball over for the remainder of the game, while the turnover-fest was just beginning for the Tigers. The remainder of the half played like a bad tennis rally as Miami punted and Missouri turned the ball over. Late in the half, on their only sustained drive of the game, Miami settled for a field goal to tie the game at three. Missouri, still playing tennis, would throw their fourth INT of the half resulting in Miami's only touchdown as the Canes executed a swing screen to perfection against an aggressive Missouri defense. Leading 10-3 and getting the ball to start the second half, the Miami team was content to head to the locker room. Nevertheless, the Tigers would give the Canes one final chance to increase their lead. A 40 yard field goal at the end of the half would do the trick as Miami took a 13-3 half-time lead in which they scored their 13 points in the last 31 seconds of the half.

The second half of the game provided a stark contrast to the first 30 minutes as there was only one turnover between the two teams. However, the third quarter saw both offense struggle to move the ball as a battle for field position ensued. Entering the fourth, Miami's next-best drive of the game yielded results as K Joel Wilkinson connected on a 52 yard field goal to extend the lead to 16-3. Missouri, undeterred, would answer Miami's score with their first TD of the game as QB Brian Ray coolly drove the Tigers down the field before connecting with WR Steve Coleman for a six yard TD. Following Coleman's TD, Miami was immediately reminded of their game against the Tigers the previous year in which settling for field goals allowed Missouri to come back to win in the end. And so, it appeared that this would be the case again as Miami found itself defending against a suddenly efficient Missouri offense, up 16-10 and knowing that allowing a TD would mean defeat. Yet, Ray's one bad throw of the half, ended like many in the first, with a Miami defender catching the ball. Miami, content to run the ball and the clock, settled for a 29 yard field goal to ice the game for all-intensive purposes. The Tigers would score again to close the game to 19-17, but an unsuccessful onside kick would knock the Tigers off the top of the rankings.

Wyrmreaver. Good game. You not scoring more than a field goal when I turned the ball over on my first three possessions was the key to the game. Even a 10-0 lead, would have probably led to more turnovers on my part and I don't have the offense to really come back against you. Then, me being able to get 10 points off of your two turnovers at the end of the half was basically the same situation you were in, just the opposite result. I'm surprised I didn't turn the ball over after those first three because usually once I start, I can't stop turning it over until its too late.

Kinda. If I started in FG range, I definitely scored. That I can recall, I only had two drives of any significant length and that was the first field goal and the field goal to start the fourth quarter. Then again, with the way I started, I didn't think I'd have a chance at all.

Offensive show keeps Arkansas ahead of Auburn

Arkansas kept out in front of Auburn turning all but one of their drives into points. Defensively, Arkansas got MEAN. Auburn O-Line struggled giving up 6 sacks and rushing for -20 yards. Arkansas stuck heavily to there cover 2 and punished Auburn players. One auburn WR got crushed by safety Jamarcus Tucker, braking multiple ribs. Even when he managed to release the ball, Tiger QB Nathan Graham got repeatedly hit hard by 260+ lbs Defensive lineman.

Despite the level of punishment being dished out, after early struggles auburn turned it around and kept themselves in the game. Graham racked up 335 passing yards and 4 TDs. Auburn cut the lead to 10 with the ball early in the 4th quarter. Arkansas sealed the game with back to back big hit sacks, the second being a fumble recovered at the auburn 5 yard line.

GG recchem2000, Series of brutal hits up on the dynasty wire. Good thing your QB has a decent injury rating :)

Don't think you need to go back to the drawing board completely. It seemed to have been a competitive game after the first quarter and you scored more than I ever have against him. So, fire the defensive coordinator! :p

Both teams were about as even as it got, with 4-3 records and only separated by one spot in the polls. Auburn scored early and took an early 13-0 lead. The LSU offense couldnt do much of anything in the first half. 2 missed 3rd and short opportunities and a fumble after a catch led to short drives. The defense did their job by getting sacks and an interception and forcing FGs instead of TDs to keep it from being 21-0. LSU was able to get a FG as time expired in the first half.

LSU got a NCAA 12 like one handed interception which led to a 10 yard Russel scramble to make the score 13-10. LSU got the ball back, but sputtered in Auburn territory. Settling for the tie, LSU kicked the FG. Auburn went ahead early in the 4th with a FG, but lose QB Graham due to injury on a scramble. This put in Morris for the rest of the game. They had a chance to put the game away with a TD, but with Morris in were unable to move the ball far. LSU got the ball back, but not after a great punt that put them at their own 10. On a 4th and 10 play, Russel hit HB Dahl for the crucial first down. 2 plays later, Russel hit Battle on a post route. The Auburn defender was caught spinning around, and that hesitation was all Battle needed. He outran the secondary for the go ahead score. Auburn's final drive ended on an interception on 4th down.

    #16 LSU 20 - #17 Auburn 16

I honestly thought I had 6 on that one handed pick you made. I even lead my TE away from the DB thinking he could sneak it in there. I was wrong. Well I needed this game bad too...could of stopped my 3 game losing streak but it wasnt meant to be. I can still salvage my season by beating up on Jayrah 's Aggies :)

Arkansas dominates second half to pull away from Florida

Florida started off with a bang, taking the first play from scrimmage 75 yards up the gut for a TD. Then forcing a 3 and out and coming back with a FG to go up 10-0. Florida forced another 3 and out, and things seem to be looking there way until instead of Fair catching the punt at the 50, Florida's return man decided on his own to move out of the way and let the punt bounce 30 yards. At this point the momentum in the game turned to Arkansas' favor. After a florida 3 and out, Arkansas started its drive on the Florida 45 yard line and converted the drive for a TD. Florida put together another good drive but some what prophetically threw a 64 yard Pick 6. Florida then took the ball inside the 10 yard line but ran out of time and took a FG to bring the score to 14-13 Arkansas.

Second half Arkansas pulled away with deep passes, ridiculous one handed catches, and 4 florida turnovers. Somewhat bizarre stat line that Arkansas only had 6 first downs and 2 of them were on the last drives while running out the clock. Meanwhile Florida had 19 first downs and 5 more minutes of possession.

Props to Arkansas WR Eric Setzer, who caught a fifty yard seam pass down the middle of the field one handed over the defender in his pocket. Then somehow managed to not be touched by the defender and run 15 more yards for a TD.

GG satansAngel second half kinda snowballed

    Miami Dispatches Tennessee
    shuts out the Volunteers 38-0

Miami defeated the Tennessee Volunteers with a solid all-around performance. The offense scored in every quarter, as it played keep-away from Tennessee. The defense on their part, continually shut down the Volunteer passing attack on third downs, forcing five punts throughout the game. In the fourth, the defense would get its rewards as it returned two interceptions for touchdowns on consecutive possessions to seal the scoring.

With only one true HB in the backfield, the Tigers were gonna have to rely on Russell to get the job done. In the 2nd with a 3-0 lead, he hit Battle in between the corner and safety. Battle tiptoed the sidelines, turned on the burners, and was gone for a 71 yard score. Sacks early on would only allow the Aggies to score a FG in the opening half. Russell put in another TD, this one to Jones on a third and long from 26 yards out.

The Aggies got the ball in the third looking to get the score closer. But an underthrown ball by Muhammad would be picked by MLB Hudson. The Tigers only got three, but it kept the Aggies from getting 6. While they did manage a FG on their next drive, heartbreak struck for them. CB West, who was thrust into the backfield due to injuries from Dahl and Yates, took a screen pass 76 yards for a backbreaking score. The Tigers did give the Aggies a chance for a comeback. Grant picked off a pass for a pick 6, breathing in some hope. But the offense failed to get anything going.

GG Bro. I just got totally out-played. I was extremely slow in my reads after the interception and took some sacks I shouldn't have taken, which put me in terrible positions for conversion when I really needed it. Just lost all faith in my qb I think. Then when I had a great shot at making it a one score game my rb drops a sure first down.

Boom29 No, no it's not. Just a bump in the road. We'll play differently against those two and go to a BCS bowl. This is our promise! Was not my normal, aggressive self against Mexi for some reason, but I'll be back to tear up Death Valley next year.

    Florida 0

Mizzou got the ball first and it only took 2 plays to go 75 yards for the TD. Florida then threw an INT in their own territory and the Tigers capitalized with another TD to go up 14-0 with only 1:10 gone by.

At that point Florida just rolled over and tried to get out of the stadium as quickly as possible.
