    #8 Oregon 24
    #1 Florida 0

The Ducks survive The Swamp with all of their feathers. Oregon played solid on both sides of the ball to control the game.

The 1st qtr saw both teams punt and ended 0-0. Oregon struck first in the 2nd qtr on a 34yrd end around by WR Ford for the TD to go up 7-0. Florida would drive the ball down the field, but the ducks would hold strong and force Florida to attempt a 53yrd FG. The kick sailed wide left. Oregon would take over and HB Williams would bust one up the gut for a 37yrd TD run to extend the lead to 14-0. Florida would begin driving the ball again to score before half, but once again Oregon forced them to punt with 0:19 seconds remaining before half. Coach Slick not wanting to turn the ball over for a quick pick 6 or fumble return for a TD ran 2 conservative plays up the middle and ran out the clock. Oregon received the opening kickoff of the 3rd qtr and was able to strike again on a 53yrd TD pass to WR Scott to push the lead up to 21-0. Florida was trying to mount another comeback when Oregon was able to hold them on 4th and on inside Oregon's 10yrd line to get the ball back. Oregon would tack on a FG in the 4th to make the final score 24-0.

gg brave - just one of those crazy games for you. My team played WAY above their heads.

Texas Beats USC in So-Cal: OT Finish
    27-26

Texas is in a rebuilding mode of sorts. After losing All-Everything QB Kevin Williams, RB Tom Rice, and both prototype Safeties; Texas has a whole new feel as a team. Gone are the days of Kevin Williams' Mainning-like arm, but enter (RS)Junior QB Peter Ball. Ball had thrown a total of 37 times before this season, and had found much more success as a runner in his previous two seasons of back-up duty. This season though he looks like the real deal. He has a cannon of an arm to go along with his feet, and a solid WR corps to pass to. He seems to have the clutch gene too, as evidenced by an enormous QB scramble during a game-tying 2-minute drill vs. USC.

Texas' new offense is very similar to the Texas' offense we have seen under Coach Max but Ball's mobility has added a couple of pages. P.B. was deadly running the read option, and when the defense is in man chasing his receivers he was able to punish the D by escaping the pocket too.

The game @ USC was a tough-fought victory for the Horns. USC had lead almost the entire game until a 43-yd Texas FG with 0:43 left in the game tied it up(it was 4th and inches on the 5 and Coach Max debated whether or not to go for it- USC's Dline was playing tough that game and Coach Max didnt want to take points off the board even though 0:40 was plenty of time for The Trojans to get in range). USC got the ball back and marched down the field into FG range, but Texas forced them out to the hash where Coach Max iced the Trojan's K Pearson. Pearson had the leg, but missed wide-left setting up OT.

Texas got the ball first and scored in 2 plays with Ball finding WR Howard on a seam route for 6. USC would respond with a TD of their own, and chose to try for the win on a 2pt conversion. Coach Max again let the Trojans line up and "iced" them again. USC went two back and would operate the game's last play out of shotgun. Texas' Junior RE Zach Nash would wind up making the game-winning sack. He put a move on USC's LT and went untouched to the QB, blasting him and sealing the 1pt victory.

GG Twist. What a finish! One of those games that makes NCAA worth playing all-day every-day haha

    (vids coming soon)

    USC: 39 Oregon: 35

Thrilling game that featured a massive aerial attack by both teams. The Trojans Andy Atkinson went 28/38 for 426 yards and 3 tds and 2 ints. The Ducks QB Justin Scott went 16/25 and 355 yards and 4 tds and 2 ints.
The game had the feel that the team with the ball last would prevail and TE Phil Cox caught a 6 yard TD pass in the corner of the EZ for the winning margin with 20 seconds left.

TE Phil Cox had 6 catches for 129 and 2 tds and WR Mike Lewis had 7 catches for 96 yards.

    Another great game Slick!!
