SR QB Kris Hughes decided to forgo the draft last year and return to try and win another championship at A&M. "There is a lot I have to prove" said Hughes when he announced his decision last spring. "I've had some injuries and I want to prove to everyone that I am tough enough to play at the next level. Coach Drifter pulled both Marvin and I into his office and told us that he wouldn't blame us at all for trying to leave. He believes in us and he believes in this team." SR HB Marvin Patterson had a nice spring and will power the ground game with relatively no proven talent behind him. He is explosive, but will need to work on ball security as the season wears on. "I probably would have been the fastest back at the combine last year, but I realize that isn't everything" said Patterson when he asked why he returned for his senior year. "I was projected as a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick. I'm better than that and I'm going to spend all this year proving it."

Hughes and Patterson are paired with one of the countries best offensive line units. SR RT(RS) Danny Jenkins and SR(RS) C Kevin Dowdell could be top 10 picks in next year's draft and the talent does not stop there. A relatively unproven WR corps is helped out by a very experienced and talented TE group. Sr. Louis Holland is a freak and plays above his weight. WR Adam Harris was last year's scout team player of the year and will look to translate his explosive practice moves onto the field this year.

"I wouldn't trade this defensive line for anyone else's in the country. That's a fact" replied Coach Drifter when asked about what excites him most about the Aggie's Wrecking Crew defense. SO(RS) MLB Kevin Morrow is an athletic specimen with a nose for the football. The LB corps is fast and plays with a high motor. "Everyone on that defensive front-7 is a 'must-block'. I'm really glad I don't have to gameplan against those guys, I'll just say that. I'm pretty sure SO(RS) DT Chris Wilson dreams about turning QBs into powder" said Coach Drifter. "These guys are hungry this year." And they should be. Last year's unit was full of talent and managed a very poor season, allowing a lot of yards through the air. That should change this year.

JR(RS) CB Shaun Cunningham has struggled with top flight WRs his first two years, but started coming into his own towards the end of the season. No one will get behind this guy and his lanky body allows him to make plays that other CBs (and WRs in some cases) can't make. This DB unit is THE deepest in the country as it is chalk-full of highly touted prospects. FR(RS) CB Andy McClain, the year before's best DB in the country, will find his way onto the field in nickel packages.

"Our schedule is tough this year, but we have the players to fight this one out. There are no easy games, but that's kind of how we like it."

    2017 OREGON DUCKS

    OFFENSE:
This years Duck team will resemble many of the recent Oregon teams that have has success with the power rushing attack. Although we have never had the across the board speed like this before. RS Sr Greg Butler who has been an intercal part of the past 3 years offense will take a reserve role behind superstar HB Terrance Woods.

    Column 1
Position PS/NR Name Caliber Ht Wt 40
    HB #10/#95 Terrance Woods :4stars: 6'0" 180 4.36

Woods came to Oregon as an unwanted middle tier HB with questionable size and turned into and absolute beast with blazing speed(95) and incredible toughness (95 Bk tkl). He is projected as the 2nd HB off the board in this years NFL draft. Butler will still play a major role in the offense by not only spelling Woods in the backfield, but also as a slot receiver and kick return specialist. This will add an added luxury at Oregon's due to the fact that most of our returners have been lower rated players that we are not afraid to get injured putting them in such a role. Butler is still getting high praise from the scouts and is still looking to come off the board towards the end of the first round. Many are comparing this backfield to the one Arkansas put on the field some 10 years back with Mcfadden and Jones.

The offense will be let by Jr signal caller Eric Franklin who has been called "a Fullback with and arm"

    Column 1
Position PS/NR Name Caliber Ht Wt 40
    ATH #27/#454 Eric Franklin :3stars: 6'0" 229 4.46

with 90 speed and 94 break tackle he has been out shined by his more hyped fellow recruiting class member Kris Hughes but is looking forward to there meeting at mid season to show what he can do.

The Ducks also return there leading receiver from there championship team in TE Steven Smith who had 900+ receiving yards and 9 TD's last season. At 270 pound with 86 speed and 87 break tackle he is a true matchup nightmare.

    DEFENSE:

Oregon's defense will feature a great mixture of young hungry players, and elite athletes at there respective position. 4 of the Ducks 11 starters on defense are the #1 rated player in the country at there respected position. None are more feared that the freak athlete at DE Kyle Leonard.

    Column 1
Position PS/NR Name Caliber Ht Wt 40
    DE #27/#478 Kyle Leonard :3stars: 6'8" 244 4.52

Leonard is the single most imposing player that has ever put on an Oregon uniform. At 6'8" 260 he is the fastest Defensive Lineman in the country (89 speed), And He is virtually unblockable (97 finesse move, next closest in the nation is 91).

While Leonard is the muscle up front, SS Maurice Fredrick is the heart and soul of the defense.

    Column 1
Position PS/NR Name Caliber Ht Wt 40
    SS #1/#5 Maurice Frederick :5stars: 5'9" 206 4.44

Fredrick, unlike many of his fellow teammates has been a star since the day he stepped on campus. While Fredrick does not posses elite top end speed, when it comes to Agility (93) Awareness (92) and Acceleration (93) there is no SS that can touch him in any category.

Through 2 games this team has been a blast to play with, and the major question mark is will the young starters be able to make enough plays to give these super

I'm starting to think that if three or four other coaches had my A&M team that there would be 0% chance that anyone would beat them. I wish I was better on the sticks, cuz I really don't let these guys shine as much as they could.
