University of Texas Longhorns Season 9 Preview

Texas will start Season 9 looking to return to the BCS National Championship game after a disappointing defeast in last year's title game. Texas returns their top skilled players on both offense and defense. The question marks will be the offensive line and the defensive secondary. The Texas roster has 16 players rated 90+ with 7 players 96+ and 2 players 99+.

    OFFENSE:
Texas was able to convince JR(RS) QB Wright to not leave for the NFL after only 1 season of starting. Wright passed for 3,614yrds 26tds and 12int in his first yr as a starter looks lead a more balanced attack this year. The Longhorns started off as a pass heavy offense last season, but with the emergence of true freshman HB Bell towards the end of the season they will look to run the ball more. SO HB Bell will be the starter at halfback after rushing for 1,401yrds and 27tds last year. The receiving corp will be lead by SR Joseph who proved to be Wright's favorite target last year.

    QB:
JR(RS) - Wright will be the field general to lead the offense.

    HB:
SO - Bell will be the work horse
JR(RS) - Bishop will be the short yardage and goal line back

    WR:
Returning all starters from last year. Top 4 receivers are rated 90, 94, 96, & 99 in catching

    TE:
SR - Campbell will see the field more as a blocker with more emphasis on the ground game

    O-Line:
The weakness of the offense. The Longhorns lost all 5 starters last year. This season success will depend on this guys. 4 of the 5 starters are 91+ with 2 being 99.

    DEFENSE:
Texas has some convining to do on this side of the ball as well. They were able to convince OLB Castillo to come back for his Senior season. Castillo at 97ovl is the heart and soul of the Horns' defense. Texas does suffer some loses though losing both DE from last years squad. Texas will switch back to the 4-3 this year to strengthen the fron 7.

    D-Line:
Bell and Bowling return to anchor the d-line and look to clog the middle. Defensive ends Willimasn and Joseph will look to step up this year since they will be back on the edges in the 4-3 to get pressure on qbs.

    LB:
SR - Castillo who lead the horns in tackles last year will be the impact player and leader of the Defense.

    CB:
JUCO-JR Mackey and SR Cutler will be looking to shut down the best receivers with 90,91 man coverage and 93,95 press coverage skills respectively

    SS:
96ovl SR(RS) Harris will really be the leader of the secondary unit as he will have to make plays in the passing and running games.

    FS:
SO Wilson start for the first time in his carreer as the last line of defense for the horns.

Texas looks to win it's 7th Big XII Title and return to the National Title game. This year will be a tough road as the Horns will play all 3 Big XII users.

    Prediction: 12-2, Big XII Champion

Washington State University Season 9 Preview

Coach Cougs has slowly built a formidable team in the PAC-10 Conference. The offense will be under the direction of Drew Webb who will be formidable on the ground as well as the air. Webb has increase his speed to a 90 rating. Antwon Brady looks to rebound from a somewhat disappointing sophomore season with a strong performance this season. He was in the gym extensively during the offseason and improved speed and acceleration. Webb will be throwing to a bunch experience wide receivers with his main targets Jason Richards, Matt Davis, Jason Whitlock.

The Cougar defense looks to be strong with Lewis Elliott being the Cougars most highly rated player on either side of the ball. In addition the secondary has experience with players like Mike Hayes and Mark Taylor. The linebackers for the Cougars are very fast and quick. ROLB Joe Frazier has 91 speed and 99 acceleration. He probably should be on offense, but his hands are so so. The defensive line is a concern with Coach Cougs, there is no one that is tremendously outstanding, but Harvey Max, Javan Richardson, and Brian Bradshaw all look at to make opposing QBs lives miserable.

Outlook, this could be the year that WSU takes home the conference title. However, the Cougs must find a way to beat UCLA. Last season the Cougars played UCLA tough losing 14-7. The Cougs must find a way to score points, if they can the Bruins could go down to the Cougs in Week 13.

The 2018 Clemson Tigers are expecting great things out of newly appointed Head Coach Frost. The Tigers have been an example of mediocrity the past several years and look to get out of thier funk. Coach Frost took over late in the 2017 season and helped the Tigers finish strong in recruiting. The Tigers got in late on two four-star recruits that look to help the Tigers regain their strut. First was 5'11" HB Blake Williams who projects to be a good all-around back and 6'4" WR John Horton will be a big target in the passing game.

    Tiger Football goals for 2018:

    - Top 15 Recruiting Class
    - ACC Championship
    - Finish in Top 25

    Season 9 Nebraska Cornhuskers Preview
    OFFENSE:
The key for this season's offense is injuries. The skill positions were plagued with them last year, with the Huskers finishing the season against FSU with a 3rd string QB, HB, TE, and WR starting. If the offense can stay healthy, they look to be a pretty big threat to put up points in bunches this season. The offensive coordinator has yet to decide the playbook, and the team may be running more of a traditional pro style this season, rumor has it.

    QB: JR(RS) - Justin Ryan - 96 OVR
Ryan will head up the QB position once again, with another year of experience and some offseason training on accuracy under his belt. With 92 speed, 93 elusiveness, and 86 break tackle, it will be hard for defenses to keep Ryan from putting up another year of big numbers on the ground, as well as in the air.

HB: SR - Roland McKenzie - 95 OVR
Most fans are holding out hope that McKenzie can stay injury-free this season, as 3 separate month-long injuries last year kept him from producing at all. The Huskers will lean on Roland and his high 90s break tackle, stiff arm, spin, and juking.

    WR:
A very experienced group, albeit not extremely talented with an 87 and 86 OVR starting for Nebraska. The top 6 receivers have been here 4 years or more, so expect this group to play better than the sum of the parts.

TE: FR - Jonathan Bradshaw - 78 OVR
Word is quietly spreading about Bradshaw, and quite the rumble can be heard in Lincoln about this kid. At 6'3" 230 he is as big as most LBs, but his 84 SPD with 88 ACC and 89 catching prove he will be a threat in the passing game immediately, making him one of the best sets of hands on the team. His mid-70s blocking ratings show he can contribute outside of catching the ball as well. This :5stars: recruit will be a 4 year starter for the Huskers.

    O-Line:
Only one guy over a 90, but the rest are mid to high 80s and very experienced, outside of a couple talented freshman who will be redshirting. The season will depend on how well they play in big games.

    DEFENSE:
The Huskers defensive coordinator is quietly leaning toward running a 3-4 or 3-3-5 and moving away from the Multiple playbook. The lack of depth at DT and the speed at LB help this move make sense, but nothing is finalized on this department. The defense has nowhere near the level of talent that the offense does, but there are a few standouts and the unit is deep.

    D-Line:
Led by a senior DT, the 3 ends that will play the most are all underclassmen, with 2 true freshman. While the talent is there, the experience and awareness isn't. Any help these guys can get from the back 8 will be appreciated.

    LB:
90 OVR MLB Carl Landrum leads this unit, with 3 underclassmen learning from the 4 year veteran at the other LB positions. This squad is fast and athletic, and not quite the cover guys me might need them to be, but the run defense should be great and if these guys can make a few athletic INTs that's all we need of them.

    CB:
Two juniors in Nick Young and Travis Watson will start at corner, both with 90+ speed and cover attributes. The depth doesn't really go past the SR nickel back, so keeping these CBs healthy should be a focus for the Huskers.

FS: SR - Richard McKenzie - 88 OVR
Quite possibly one of the underrated superstars in the waiting for Nebraska, McKenzie's attributes for a FS make you drool. He will be looking to knock some heads and lay the wood this year, and his speed and 97 MCV prove he isn't just a run stopping safety.

SS: SR - Jason Dickson - 97 OVR
Without a doubt the best player in the country nobody knows about, Dickson is an absolute beast, and the most talented player on this Husker squad, which is saying a lot. His cover skills are outstanding, but his 96 TKL and 98 PRC ratings show versatile he is at the safety position.

The Huskers have made 3 straight Big 12 Championship Games, yet only have won one of them, the year they went to the BCS Title game. With 3 user games in conference, the Huskers decide their destiny, and a Penn State game in week 1 will be quite the challenge.

Prediction: 14-0, Big XII Champion, BCS Champion

SEASON 9 - OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS - SEASON OUTLOOK

    OFFENSE

The Oklahoma STate offense will go as the running game goes, thats always been the story. This year there should be pressure moved off of the run game though with a legit QB at the helm. Add to that the fact that the Washington playbook is now firmly installed it should be another fun one on this side of the ball.

    QB - JR(RS) Charles Rhodes - 92OVR
The Cowboys will start a different quarterback ro the fourth consecutive season, this time it will be former Nebraska standout that was a surprising transfer a year ago. After taking a redshirt in his transfer year it has been clear that the job would be his. Coach Jman has not had a more complete quarterback in his time at OK State and this should prove a valuable asset for tight games and to take pressure off the run.

HB - SO Courtney Dykes - 80 OVR
Dykes ran for 2400+ yards and 30 scores last season en route to winning the three major awards and AA status as a true fresman. However, he was SCREWED out of the Heisman and looks to rebound and prover there is no sophomore slump. In the words of Texas' Coach Slick, "Dykes is a beast".

FB - SR Sean Murphy - 94 OVR
In an offense that has amassed gawdy rushing numbers, Murphy is a key reason why. Other than his sophomore injury, Murphy has been a potent part of that running attack not only blacking but running as well, the kid can do it all.

TE - JR Sean Moore - 80 OVR
Moore has been a key outlet the past two season while being a ferocious run blocker, he looks to have another great seaosn and lead a corps of three very talented big men at the TE spot.

    WR - SR(RS) Eugene Anderson - 94 OVR/JR(RS) Lionel Mayes - 91 OVR
For the first time the Cowboys have a legit QB and legit deep threats on bothe sides of the field. Anderson looks to be a force after a great offseaosn and the addition of former Texas wideout Mayes after a redshirt transfer seaosn could be critical to the Cowboys in the long haul.

    OL - Various Starters - 2SR/1JR/1SO/1FR
This will be interesting as the Cowboys graduated 4 of 5 starters from last years team. The incoming starters fit the required build for the offense though as they are all very intelligent and can pull.

    DEFENSE

Athleticism can no longer be an excuse. The Cowboy defense is vastly different than 3 years ago and they should now be able to make plays when needed. The only question mark is int he trenches, that will be the key. No individuals here, one unit, one goal.

    PROJECTION

Simply put? Big XII South Champions is the primary goal. Texas is beatable and we've been close the last two years, this is the one. User games OOC with #5 UCLS and #2 Ohio State look to be brutal though, add to that Nebraska back on the schedule, it'll be interesting.

    12-2 and a BCS Bowl.
