Utah St. Came into sin city to play UNLV but came up short. As the game started UNLV received the kickoff and went down the field just for Sherry to throw an interception. Utah St. QB Chuckie Keeton then breaks of an 83 yard TD run. You could almost hear all of Las Vegas go, "Here we go again". UNLV didn't give up however, and came right back to score as Sherry finds Herring in the end zone, and ties the game 7-7. On the ensuing drive Wilson picks off Keeton and UNLV's Sherry finds Anthony Williams for another touchdown pass. UNLV scores 2 touchdowns within a minute and takes the lead 14-7. The only other score of the half would be a UNLV field goal, a 27 yarder by kicker Kohorst as the half expires. UNLV would ***** to score the next touchdown. They get down to the goal line, and Senior RB Tim Cornett pounds it in for a 1 yard TD run as UNLV takes the lead 24-7. Feeling down but not out, the Aggies start to drive, and as Keeton brushes off a 10 yard run, he fumbles the ball, it's kicked around a bit but ultimately is picked up by sophomore SS Peni Vea and returned 54 yards for a touchdown, and UNLV goes up 31-7. Utah St. Finally gets something going completing a 68 yard pass to R. Hall, ********** by an 8 yard run by QB Chuckie Keeton and completing a 2 point conversion to make the score 31-15. UNLV goes down again to score another TD by 15 yard run from freshman QB Jared Lebowitz. The score from here's 38-15, which is what the final ends up being. Utah St. Tries one more ditch effort to score and is intercepted by sophomore FS Kenny Keys. UNLV would then run the game clock out and take home the victory.

Sherry finishes 10/15 151 yards with 2 INT, and 2 TD. Sullivan grabs 3 ***** for 58 yards to be the leading receiver. Cornett's game was cut short but he finishes with 15 rushes, 54 yards and 1 TD, also grabbing 1 catch for 18 yards. The leading rusher was freshman QB Jared Lebowitz as Coach Gump's dual QB system finally shows some life. UNLV's defense shows up to shut down, and finishes with 2 INT, 2 sacks, 1 FF for a TD and only 15 points allowed.
Senior DE Parker Holloway gets up to 6.5 sacks and has been a wrecking force all year. UNLV sure will miss his production next year, but they have recruited a 4 star DE, named Kory Buchanan, in hopes to replace Holloway and bring in a fresh mean face to wreck QB's.

Coach Bubba Gump took over halfway through the season. He is 2-2 with UNLV and UNLV overall record is now 3-7 and is 2 wins away from his goal of 5 wins with 2 games left. The Rebels will definitely ride this momentum into Week 13's game against Wyoming. Coach Gump, who was brought in because of his defensive mind, was quoted after the game saying "Defense. Wins. Games. That's all there is too it. Offense's will stall its a known fact, but if the defense stays alive you will win games, and that was proved today. We sent a message today, and I promise you UNLV will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. We can't win the conference this year, but we can win out the next two games, stay strong, and ride momentum and I believe we will be a MWC conference champion contender next year."

    Temple Rolls, Leads MAC(EAST)
Temple traveled to Kent State for a battle between the two top teams in the MAC East. Temple started strong returning the opening kickoff over a hundred yards for a quick touchdown. Temple's defense played strong on all fronts only allowing Kent State 8 yards on the ground. The Golden Flashes did score 3 touchdowns through the air, but the secondary stepped up to end the game with a big interception. This was one of QB Connor Reily's better performances going 8 for 11 with 122 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Temple also controlled the game on the ground with 44 runs for 180 yards. MTSU is now officially bowl eligible after a win over conference rival FIU last week. The Blue Raiders sit at 7-3 overall on the year, and 5-2 in Confernce USA play. While the Blue Raiders dont appear to have a chance to catch front running Florida Atlantic, who is unbeaten in conference play, and already defeated the Blue Raiders this year, Blue Raider fans look at this season as a success thus far.

MTSU also landed a pile of commitments this week, to bring their total to 11 on the year, and push their class up to number 57 in the country. Get details over in Middle Tennessee State Recruiting shortly.

La Tech traveled to Houston, TX to meet Rice in a C-USA matchup. Both teams needed a victory to stay in the Conference race. Rice scored first on a short FG. La Tech answered in the 2nd quarter on a 32 yard Paul Harris TD pass. Rice drove back down field and tacked on a FG. Then on the ensuing kickoff La Tech fumbled, but the D held Rice to another FG. Rice lead 9-7 at the half. To open the 3rd quarter La Tech went back to what it has done successfully most o the season and that is a ball control offense. La Tech used 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter clock and converted several 3rd down conversions in the process. La Tech took the lead on a Keneth Dixon TD run from 14 yards out The La Tech D held Rice at mid-field and then the Rice punter dropped a beautiful punt out of bounds at the 1 yard line. Moments later Paul Harris was sacked for a safety as the 3rd quarter ended at 14-11 with Rice getting the ball back. Rice then drove down to the La Tech 30 where another drive was srtopped on an acrobatic INT. La Tech ten went on a long drive and scored the final TD in the final minute of the game. Final Score: La Tech 21 Rice 11

After the game Coach Bryden credited the victory to the defense and awarded the game ball to the whole Defense. No touchdowns allowed
