Northern Illinois comes up inches short, lose to Buffalo 24-21 Many fans will look immediately at the kick for missing two FGs but the key to the loss was the Offensive Line. While they blocked well for RB Akeem Daniels (25-157-1) they did not block well for their QB. Lynch was on the run all game, the fact he was only sacked twice was an accomplishment considering he was constantly being pressured by 4 and 5 man rushes. The Huskies WR also compiled 4 drops, all of which came in situations in which NIU needed a play to convert for a first down. All game the Buffalo defensive backs played lock down coverage on the WR for NIU, it was difficult for Lynch to find open receivers anywhere on the field. To finish out the game the NIU Offensive Line failed to get an push on a run play from the 1 Yd line which resulted in Akeem Daniels being stuffed inches short of the TD as time ran out because the NIU offense could not get to the line fast enough Lynch 25-40 288 1TD Akeem Daniels 25-157-1Keith Harris 3-29-1
