    BOWL ELIGIBLE!

The MTSU Blue Raiders moved to 6-5 with a 24-17 victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday. The win will make the Blue Raiders eligible for a 2nd bowl bid in Coach Hickerson's as many season. "It's great to become bowl eligible, but we still have one more game to go out and play, and win. .500 isn't good enough around here, at least not anymore. We want to get to 7-5 right now, then we will worry about where we are going and who we are playing in a bowl game. These seniors have one more game to play at Floyd Stadium, and you can bet your ass we are completely focused on sending them out in the right style," said Coach Hickerson.

The Blue Raiders close the seasons out by hosting the UAB Blazers, a team MTSU should beat. "It doesn't matter who you should beat, it matters who you do beat. If you ask us, we should beat everyone we line up against. That's just our mentality," said senior halfback and kick returner Reggie Whatley. "Us seniors got one more time to go out and put a show on for the @BLUE_ZOO and we gon' do it, best believe that."

IS IT A NEW SEASON YET? lol

San Jose State rolled into Las Vegas to try and take down the 7-3 Rebels. This game was a thriller from the start, with 3 touchdowns in the first quarter all on the ground. The score after one was 14-7 SJSU. 38 points would be scored in the 2nd. Both UNLV touchdowns were passing touchdowns from JR QB Nick Sherry. They also tacked on a FG. SJSU would get 2 more rushing TD's and one passing from QB Blake Jurich. The score at halftime was 35-24 San Jose State. After San Jose State scored the first TD of the 3rd quarter to go up 42-24 this one looked to be running away from Coach Gump. The Rebels then drive down the field and score a quick TD through the air from Sherry to WR Anthiny Williams to make it 42-31. Then a quick INT thrown by Jurich right into the hands of Sophmore LB David Moffitt. San Jose was trying to get the ball back, and Nick Sherry dumps a HB screen on them, and star running back Niko Kapeli takes it in for a touchdown making the score 42-39. You could then feel the Rebels coming alive. Starting the 4th quarter, San Jose kicks a FG extending the lead 45-39. Another TD from Niko Kapeli would come next, and the rebels tie it up 45-45 halfway through the fourth, then get a 3 and out, and go on to score again with another hookup from Sherry to Kapeli. 52-45 Rebels. Momentum won't hold however and SJSU comes right back and ties it up. Each team would go on to score 1 more touchdown with San Jose State's coming in the final 8 seconds of regulation. At the end of regulation the score is 59-59. UNLV is forced to take the ball first in OT and backup QB Jared Lebowitz takes the first score on an 18 yard dash, but it's not long lived as San Jose State only takes one play to score on a 25 yard strike from Jurich to WR KC Pierce. The 2nd OT is where it is all decided. The rebels sack Jurich twice, both coming from Sophmore LE Dominic Baldwin and knocks them out of FG range. San Jose would go 4 and out. After a few running plays, Nick Sherry scrambles in from 7 yards to seal the 72-66 victory and keep the hopes alive for a MWC conference championship.

JR QB Nick Sherry had the game of his career going 22/37 344 yards and 5 TD through the air, also accompanied by 102 yards and 2 TD on the ground giving him a total of 446 yards and 7 touchdowns! Sophmore HB Niko Kapeli also had a career day with 130 yards 2 TD on the ground and 51 yards 2 TD rec giving him a total of 181 yards and 4 TD. Backup QB Jared Lebowitz would be UNLV's third 100 yard rusher of the game racking up 157 yards and 1 score.

Sophmore LE Dominic Baldwin TIES AND NCAA RECORD WITH 6 Sacks. That's right 6 sacks. He is responsible late in the game for holding San Jose State and icing the victory for UNlV. He received the game ball and is in the running for NCAA defensive POTW.

Coach Gump was asked how he felt after the game, he responded by saying, " How should I feel after a game with 19 touchdowns, 138 points, and 1,532 yards of offense. I'm proud of my offense, 799 yards has never been done here at UNLV and couldn't have been done by a better group of guys. We have some work to do on defense, seeing as we got pounded by they're quarterback Blake Jurich for 660 yards but ill take this win. We're now 8-3 and are in the running for a conference championship. We are focusing on UTEP and they're star QB Jamiel Showers and how to stop them. We'll celebrate this one for a day but then were back on that field. We are here to show the nation that the UNLV Rebels are for real"
