Slow down Tyler Bray and Vols Offense
A tough Volunteer squad hosted the Alabama Crimson Tide this week in historic Neyland Stadium. The Vols, led by Tyler Bray at Quarterback, would learn soon the uphill challenge that awaited them despite the home field advantage.
WR Christion Jones got free on the Tide's opening drive, on the left side of the field scurrying down the field for a 21 yard touchdown, placing the Tide up front. After an unsuccessful Vols drive, the Tide would charge down the field again, this time losing RB Eddie Lacy for a quarter with muscle tightness, but that wouldn't be the only bad news on the drive. AJ McCarron would lose his grip on a bad pass, resulting in an interception deep into the red zone, a play that ended when MLB AJ Johnson for the Vols would take it back 98 yards for the score, tie game, 7-7.
The second quarter wasn't as fortunate for the home team, as the Tide would score three times, McCarron adding his second and third touchdown pass, and K Jeremy Shelley ending the half with a 33-yard field goal. 24 to 7 Alabama at the half.
The second half scoring started when CB Deion Belue returned the favor, picking off Tyler Bray and returning it 90 yards for a touchdown. With 2 minutes left in the third, it was all but the end for the Vols on this day. Tyler Bray would throw his only touchdown late in the third, capping off an efficient(25 for 35) but lackluster day(210 yards, 1 INT, 1 TD.) After returning in the second half, RB Eddie Lacy would score again, sealing the victory for the Tide in Week 8.
    Final Score
    Alabama 38 - 15 Tennessee
    Player of the Game
Alabama Runningbacks Eddie Lacy and TJ Yeldon, combined 38 carries for 212 yards and 1 touchdown
