Settings: Quarter Length

    Hey fellas, just wondering what your thoughts are on quarter length for our CCMs both online and off.

    So, based on this link above, we should be seeing 60-70 offensive plays per game, per team. Or, 120 - 140 total offensive plays per game. What time settings are you using and what sort of results are you seeing? Of course, I am looking for the settings that best simulate average plays per game.

    In my first game against the CPU, I used Cleveland vs Miami.

    15 Minute Quarters
    20 Second Accelerated Clock
    Result: 135 Plays Total

    Game 2
    New England vs New Orleans:
    15 Minute Quarters
    20 Second Accelerated Clock
    Result: 134 Plays Total

    Game 3
    Kansas City vs Atalanta
    15 Minutes QTRS
    17 Sec Accel Clock
    Result: 118 Plays
    Real Life Time: 55 Mins

    Game 4
    Carolina vs Arizona
    15 Mins
    17 Sec Accel
    Result 122 plays
    RL Time: 55 mins

    game 5
    Detroit vs New York
    10 mins
    20 sec Accel
    Results 82
    RL Time 40 mins

    I have yet to play the game, but last year I played offline with 15 min quarters, 25 second runoff I believe (if not 25 then 20) and loved the results I got as far as player/team stats were concerned.

    I had PAgamer07 run a 10 minutes 20 second runoff and he got 120 plays...do you call plays slowly?

    Wow, didnt even see Rich's reply. That's impossible! I know I have this playbook pretty much memorized by now, but I don't see how 5 more minutes per quarter can be the same length and the same amount of plays.

    I haven't decided on QTR Length but I will definetly be playing the game on Slow Speed/Speed Threshold-0

    The animations look more natural on those settings. I also plan to drop the tackle slider to around 25 on both sides because even with the new engine the tackles are just like every other year in Madden arcadey and over the top.

    Madden settings atleast seem to make more of IMPACT on gameplay as opposed to NCAA settings this year. Can't waite to get started on putting together a complete set of gameplay tweaks.

    Richuation, how are your final scores looking in these games? I like to have a snap count consistent with real NFL games, but it seems every time I put it on 13+ mins quarters WITH accel clock I still get some ridiculous NCAA final scoreline. Vikings vs Bills 51-53 :rolleyes:

    The time it takes you to call the play is irrelevant unless you are consistently exceeding 23 secs. Regardless if I take 2 secs or 15 secs to call play, it runs down to 17. Meaning, you break huddle at 17 no matter what. The quarter length and runoff is the only determining factor of play count. Now play styles could have an impact... Like no huddle, pass heavy, run heavy, etc.

    I am only looking at this from a play count perspective, the results will need to be tuned via sliders.

    I shit you not. If the Madden 13 website was up, I'd print screen and show you. Nearly every game with these settings.

    Steelers: 36
    Raiders: 0

    Steelers: 27 pass attempts + 36 rush attempts + 2 FGA + 3 punts= 68 plays
    Raiders: 18 pass attempts + 20 rush attempts + 6 punts= 44 plays

    This includes me chewing the crap out of the clock the second half. TOP 26:14

    I finally had a chance to play a game.

    10 minute quarters
    20 second run off

    I got 108 plays, including 4 special team plays.

    I've heard today that accelerated clock isn't working in CCM in user games. Anyone want to take the time to confirm that for me?
