I'm still updating that statistics document for passing and rushing as we go. If you want to check that at any point, it's posted on page 9 of this thread.
is there any way to keep the cpu from running the no huddle RO? Seems like most of the sec teams are running it now. It is bad enough that the game is set-up for the RO, and defense is a joke now, but to throw in the no huddle. Just plain bs. the defense doesn't even have to pick a play before the offense hikes the ball. The cheesy cpu still loves the screen play to much also.
And that shouldn't be done. It's possible to stop the read option, you just have to be aggressive. If your just sitting back in 2 man or zone then you should get killed.
If you blitz every play then you aren't playing by our league rules. That's why it is an issue. You are suppose to play, by using the zone and man coverage's.
Mark, it's not by blitzing 6 or 7 every play. But if you never send 6 or 7, then you will never get to them. Just like you will mix in your cover 1, 2, 3, and 4s, you need to mix in your cover 0s as well.
I send 4, 5, and 6 probably somewhere around 30:50:20 ratio and I have done well against the CPU run game.
vs the odd front, RO is murder. if the DT bites down on RB, the backside Guard and Tackle are free to roam on LB's. And if they are 2X2, you already have guys out of the box, so they have you beat bad. I may have to customize my Def playbook and add an even front
I tried the stack, but the playside guard scrapes to the MLB and the playside tackle takes playside OLB. I do worse in stack than I do in 2-4-5.
Whenever I've tried it in practice mode against the 3-3-5 the HB run is a good 7-8 yds, but the QB keeper is DOA with the backside OLB not getting blocked by the tackle and the QB gets hammered in the backfield. But my defense plays like crazy in practice mode, so there may be that.
If you do that, you'll have your odd game against FAU or someone who will still do it and annoy the crap out of you. I just assume they'll run it on 1st and 2nd down once I see it and put 5 or 6 going into the backfield and user the backside zone or whoever's covering the HB and scrape. I like nickel strong or the 4-2-5 because you can do this... You can also put an emphasis on block shedding as blaze is suggesting.
I saw that on Grantland Chance. my problem is you practically have 7 in the box. Not to mention the strong side has an easy reach block for a sweep
Yeah, I don't spread the line out that much. The SS in the flat there is a wildcard essentially that is either blitzing or reading pass/run. I would never beg anyone to run base or inside zone like that on me. That's asking to get raped, but the concept is useful in this game.
