Exactly.. I now me playing straight shots with all the other settings on simulation mode I can easily shoot 2 under par at oak hill or royal birkdale in the demo. As mentioned will have more input shortly..

Yeah after playing with out the zoom I actually like it better that way oddly enough. I still say analog strike mode and Green grid no beads would be ideal Imo.

You won't. I'm playing with a custom setting.

    Swing difficulty: Very hard
    Swing meter: On
    Ball Spin: Off
    Putt preview: Off
    Greed Grid: Off
    Stike meter: Analog
    Zoom to aim: off
    Wind diplay: arrow only
    Shot shaping: NORMAL

I've been grinding HARD, best round I had was -7. But I absolutely had to earn that (next round I shot E, this was at Oak Hills). Being forced to ALWAYS hit a draw or fade might prove to just grate on my nerves to the point the game is no longer fun, I don't know. Haven't gotten comfortable enough to try playing multiple rounds with the shot shaping on advanced. There seems to me a lot more instances around the courses where a draw or fade is mandatory if you want to keep the ball in the fairway or on the green -- and with the shot shaping on normal, a diagonal swing is still necessary. There are even some tee boxes I've come across where if you want to hit the fairway, you have to shape around trees. I'm not sure where I'm going with this.....I just feel like there are already enough instances you have to use a draw or fade, being FORCED to do it all the time just gets on my nerves......

EDIT: Maybe a lower swing difficulty may make advanced shot shaping more tolerable.....

Think we have to have the hardest swing settings so the better players do not tear up the course...

Well been practicing the advance shot shape. I absolutely cannot hit a diagonal shot with the swing difficulty on expert but I can with it on very hard.

My final vote on settings(would not be opposed to using green grid)

They are going to either way. If we use the hardest settings the majority of people in the league are average players and aren't going to enjoy it which will lead to a dead country club in about 2-3 months.

I agree 100% with Vlad. If you try to do custom there are 100's of combinations. Advanced shot shaping is what makes this game so challenging, fun and like real (pro) golf along with no zoom to aim. I can't imagine having any settings except full simulation (and maybe the green grid). Although, when I started I had the green grid on and realized it didn't really help me, so I just turned it off for the extra experience multiplier. So, I'm in the full simulation camp.

Just played my first round with Kelllller :). He did pretty well in general but he was having a great front 9 (-2 at some point), I think he 1 or 2 over par at the of it but his back was bad (40). Anyways just wanted to share my opinion in some of the gameplay topics.

We played the full simulation live tournament.

    1) Swinging aint extremely difficult but aint easy either. I was playing with my shitty player, and apart from having an horrible front 9 (+10) I somehow kinda started to get the feeling for the game in the following holes to the point where I was having only par and some birdies. I am fading, and yes even though it shows your swing plan as fade or draw, you can actually hit straight if you want to if you are not too far away from the flag (90meters away I will say). Plus you can also change your stance a bit to make it a bit straighter. To be honest I had no troubles just with the normal setting, of course I was missing some fairways and stuff like that, but I like! Its realistic. A quick tip, for those who have no idea you can actually practice your swing by pressing the left stick. I am pretty sure if you spend a good 15 minutes with it you will be more constant (often I thought I was doing it right, but after at doing that practice and observing my fingers I've noticed how wrong i was).

BTW, someone said that what happens between your back and s swing doesnt really affect the end result of your shot. Yes, its true. Unless you really had aa horrible swing your shot would be (not saying perfect) OK. But you gotta be close to the swing path in the end and beginning of it. Final thoughts regarding the tour: Leave it as its (I actually asked Keller if he was having too many problems with it, and he said that it was ok for him).

    2) Zoom: Well it makes harder but also more challenging and tactical. Aint about just standing there and flipping the sticks anymore (I appreciate that), now you are gonna have to check out the hole layout and look for some points if you need some help n where to aim at before going for your shot. I am also using the FLYBY option for most of the holes, its really nice and helpful to play smarter shots (half of the game is about planning your shots for the best results possible, IMO). Final thoughts regarding the tour: Leave it as its.

    3) View of the ball from the rough: I really dont know the name for it. But its that red dot that shows where is the face of the club gonna hit it and that after moving the stick goes away. Well I love it! It makes being in the rough an actual challenge (final I get some stress knowing that I gotta play from the rough). Final thoughts regarding the tour: Leave it as its.

    4) Putting has always been really difficult for me, just as in real life. I really dont know how to put, but this is mostly something that we all gonna have to practice and learn. Its difficult! At first I thought it was because I didnt the have grid, but after checking it out more in depth its just mainly about my putting swing. I keep having those breaks towards of the right side, cause almost about the end of my swing I pull it right. Gonna have to keep practicing, dunno here. Its difficult and frustrating at some points, but I get the same feeling when playing IRL. Final thoughts regarding the tour: Dunno, gotta play more. But in here I wouldnt mind having the grid with no beads for those who really want it as I dont see as biggie.

    5) Wind, I like having just the arrow and its movements. Real players dont know either how strong the winds are. If you actually take your time to learn from your previous shot you will get a feeling for it. If you wanna get a more real feeling for it, just play a couple of rounds with a lower difficulty and try to remember how much the arrow was moving with certain wind speeds. Final thoughts regarding the tour: Leave it as its.

Well thats it, sorry for the long post. Just wanted to give my opinion in some of the gameplay things that we are talking about in here. Game is great! Cant wait to start playing with other people. Contact me if you wanna play some rounds.

Well after playing for a few hours now with shot shape set to advanced I've realized I like it better than normal(still can't hit a draw with the diagonal shot oh well I guess i'll just hit fades). I still say we use no beads on the green grid and maybe show the wind mph. Other than that the game is getting to be really fun on these settings.

I'm shooting anywhere from -6 one round to +3 the next.

Simulation, but with green grid and no beads. So, Custom actually lol.

Just think that the green grid would help everyone out. Especially with those triple and quadruple breakers at Valhalla and Royal Birkdale. The Advanced Swing is enough of a challenge for most people.

Ian, after playing Fifa with you yesterday I'm glad to find you here.

Only reason I'm bothering you is because I can't take you seriously with a Wario avatar. I thought you were like 11 years old, lol.

We are down to two options obviously:

    1. Flat out 100 percent simulation

    2. Simulation base with/without wind mpg and with/without green grid no beads...

My first option is 1. If makes other people happier, I will take number 2 only with grids no beads. 3rd option is with wind MPH (only if almost everyone REALLY wants it).
