Coach Bochy has decided to go with a 4 man rotation with Todd Wellenmeyer as a spot starter through out the season. "I want Tim and Matt and the Jonathan's, going for now. We will use Todd as we see fit. He will see starts in the beginning of the season and his success will dictate how he is thrown going forward. "

Sanchez gets long balled by the Cards

The San Francisco Giants rallied from a 4-0 deficit but came up short 4-3 to the St. Louis Cardinals. Jonathan Sanchez drew the start and pitched 7.0 innings and gave up 4 runs 3 of the runs were brought in off of a Albert Pujols 2-run shot on a hung slider and a solo shot by Ryan Ludwick on the same pitch. The Giants were able to rally for 2 runs in the 6th and would add one more on an Aaron rowand solo blast. However, Ryan Franklin came in the 9th and shut the door on the Giants getting Juan Uribe to ground into a 4-3 double play to end the contest.

    Giants not getting it done.

The San Francisco Giants are 1-5 on the season. Their lone win came against their divison rival the LA Dodgers. In that contest Tim Lincecum pitched a gem. He pitched 8 scoreless innigs. The SFG bats came alive in this one to the tune of 9 runs. Aaron Rowand, Edgar Renteria, and Bengie Molina would leave the yard. Jeff Francoeur made his SFG debut with two hits and an rbi. The final was 9-1 as Andre Ethier would take Jerem Affedelt to center field for the solo shot.

The Giants have loss to Toronto in a close game 3-1 where Lincecum gave up 2 earned runs and the SFG bats were swinging often and showed 0 plate discipline. The Giants would also lose a close on to the Detroit Tigers. Jonathan Neise made his Giants debut and pitched a solid game but again the SFG offense only produced 2 runs losing 4-2.

The Giants would suffer their worse defeat at the hands of the Florida Marlins getting drilled for 24 hits and 13 runs while only scoring 3. Denny Bautista would give up a late lead against the Twins and the Giants give one away to the Twins 11-8. SFG would jump out to a 6 run lead in this one but slowly and surely gave it away, Justin Morneau had 3 triples in this contest I believe.

Needless to say, Lincecum can't pitch every game. Cain and Sanchez really need to step up. Aubrey Huff, Pablo Sandoval, adn Edgar Renteria need to get their bats going if SFG has any hopes of being competitive this season.

    From SFG Twitter account

"The San Francisco Giants are having preliminary meetings with the agent of Pedro Martinez."

It is not known wether they wanted to use him as a part of their rotation or as a long relief pitcher. More to come . . .

From Buster Olney of ESPN :

The San Francisco Giants will make moves if they continue to slide. The only players I'm hearing are untouchable are Lincecum and Cain. That means even all-star closer Brian Wilson will be available.

Juan Uribe got things rolling with a 2-run blast

The San Francisco Giants notched their second win of the season defeating the Cincinnatti Reds 8-3. Jonathan Sanchez pitched 6.0 innings giving up only 1 ER. Jeff Francoeur had 3 hits, 1 being a home run and scored 3 runs in this contest. Juan Uribe also added a 2 run blast. Pablo Sandoval continued his slump going 0-5 with 4 strike outs. He was the only player on the Giants team that made a plate appearance that did not register a hit.

    Noah's Home!

As expected, the SF Giants over paid to bring back lefty Noah Lowry. Lowry will start off in the pen but will battle to take a spot in the roatation from Jonathon Niese or Todd Wellenmeyer.

    Long Balls Decide It!

The San Francisco Giants were able to win a tight contest 4-3. Aubrey huff comes up big with a 9th inning blast to brak a 3-3 tie. "It was nice to come through for my team they brought me in to bring in runs and hit for power and I've let them down until today" said Huff. Pablo Sandoval snapped out of his funk with 2 hits and an rbi in the forst inning. Bengie Molina and Mark Derosa would add homeruns of their own. Matt Cain pitched well giving up only 2 runs in 7 innings with 7 k's. Brandon Medders cam in and gave up a bomb to dan Uggla in the 8th that tied the game at 3. Noah Lowry came in and got the final 2 outs of the eighth. Brain Wilson gave up 2 hits but had 2 k's to close it out in the 9th.

Giants fall 6-3 to the Phillies

    Niese not getting it done.

The Phillies would get long balls from their MVP's Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard against lefty Jon Niese to break open a game that SFG lead 2-0. Those HR's accounted for 4 runs. They would get another 2 and the Phillies rolled. Aubrey Huf was able to hit a late home run. Noah Lowry pitched 1.0 of relief giving up 0 runs. Don't be surprised if Lowry takes Niese spot in the rotation going forward.

Giants win a Duel between Zambrano and Sanchez

Seven inning masterpiece. SF Giants get second win in the windy city.

Jonathan Sanchez has been moved around the San Francisco Giants rotation for years. He has to pitch in a rotation with Matt Cain and Tim "The Freak' Lincecum. His closer Brian "Brain" Wilson is even an all-star. It's easy to forget about the lefty and that he's pitched a no hitter. However, the Chicago Cubs were held to 3 hits in his 7.0 inning gem. The Cubs would score a run but it came due to a throwing error by Pablo Sandoval. Mark DeRosa and Aaron Rowand provided home runs in this one. DeRosa playing in Wrigley where he patrolled the middle infield before being traded. Big Z pitched a great game in this one and really pitched well to keep Giants hitters on base and not scoring. Sergio Romo and Brian Wilson would pitch the last two innings without giving up a run and earning Wilson his second save of the season.

The Giants don't show up in Altanta.

The SF Giants must have been out in Atlanta enjoying the gentlemen's clubs a liitle too much before this one. Derek Lowe of the Braves pitched a CG 3 hit shutout in this one. Prado, Heyward, Glaus would do damage with the long ball as well as someone else I'm forgetting. Tim Lincecum was jacked for 5 runs in 7 innings of action giving up 2 long balls. Noah Lowry was pitching well but made a mistake and it was sent for a 3 run homer. 8-0 gg Scikotic the time off didn't hurt you, lol

    TODD!

Wellemeyer able to keep the Angels inside the park.

The baseball Gods smiled on Todd Wellemeyer. Wellenmeyer was able to avoid being crushed by a great Angels lineup. He went 7.0 innings with 7 ks and 0 er and 1 run scored. The SFG bats were mysteriously able to hit good pitches for extra bases. Edgar Renteria hit 2 homeruns in this contest with 4 RBI's. Mark Derosa hit 2 doubles and the Giants also got triples from Molina and Rowand. Noah Lowry and Sergio Romo pitched the last two innings giving up 0 runs for the 6-1 win.

Noah Lowry strong in first start of the season.

Noah Lowry continued to pitch well for the San Francisco Giants. This time he would be in the starter's role. Bruce Bochy decided he had seen enough of Lowry coming from the pen and wanted him to take the bump as a starter. Good decision Bochy. Lowry scattered8 hits over 7 1/3 allowed 1 run and struckout 11. His only achilles heel was Ryan Braun who was 4 for 4 and hit a solo shot of Lowry in the 8th.

The Giants bats were on again. As the offense has been as up and down as an elevator for the Giants. Molina and Fracncoeur both left the yard. Francoeur and needed a double for the cylce. Rowand tripled as well and Sandoval doubled. The lone starter to go 0fer was Derosa who struck out 4 times.

    One Bad inning

Tim Lincecum would have one bad innning and give up 4 runs to the streaking Oakland a's. That would be all they need as Lincecum had only 2 runs of support in this one. While hits were even runs were not. Pablo Sanodval left the yard for the first time this year off of close Andrew bailey. Aaron Rowand added 3 hits and an rbi and Buster Posey got his first hit as a major leaguer.
