Saturday Heroes Season 1 Candidates Clemson TigersCoach: BG MVP Candidate WR Sammy Watkins Sammy Watkins broke out to be a top notch playmaker. Not only will he burn you on a receiving route, but he will also torch your special teams on kick and punt returns. In his 12 touchdown campaign last season, Watkins averaged just under 15 yards a reception. So, if BG is looking for a first down...throw it to Sammy. Maryland TerrapinsCoach: NeuroticTruth MVP Candidate WR Kevin Dorsey NeuroticTruth takes over the Maryland Terps and with questions at QB and the loss of HB Meggett, SR WR Kevin Dorsey will be looked relied on to carry the load for playmaking duties. He may not always make the big play (3 TDs last season), but he is efficient as he averaged just over 12 yards a catch in 2011. Look for Dorsey to be the primary target and the primary distraction in Coach Neurotics offensive scheme. North Carolina TarheelsCoach: SteamboatReb MVP Candidate QB - Bryn Renner Coach Reb returns to the collegiate sidelines at the University of North Carolina. Some speculate not even Michael Jordan could help save the new head coach, but he will rely heavily on his gunslinger. Expect Renner to see a large workload throughout the season. If he is successful, he could see himself among the awards candidates at season's end. Pittsburgh PanthersCoach: pitt4life21 MVP Candidate HB - Ray Graham The Pitt Panthers come to the ACC a little early to get involved quickly in the battle and escape the lowly Big East. As another new face to SH on the sidelines, Coach Pitt will use his workhorse in HB Ray Graham. Already a dark horse in some Heisman watch list's, Graham has the talent, as well as the target on his back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Florida GatorsCoach: sdid22 MVP Candidate LB - Jonathan Bostic If any of you truly know Coach Diddy, you know he loves his Gators more than life itself. What else does Diddy love? Defense. Nobody shows more true aggression on this Florida defense more than MLB Jonathan Bostic. With an offense that lost some crucial pieces and will be in upstart mode this season, Sdid will be leaning on his defense to show them the way through the SEC. What better shoulders to lean on than Bostic's. Mississippi St BulldogsCoach: HackGolfer MVP Candidate QB - Tyler Russell This Mississippi State football team success offensively depends specifically on the QB. So it is no surprise that Tyler Russell is the most likely MVP Candidate for the Bulldogs. Coach HackGolfer knows how to throw the football effectively. Adding the threat of the option and run from the gun makes this Bulldogs team a darkhorse in the SEC. Tennessee VolunteersCoach: onaradio34 MVP Candidate QB - Tyler Bray Bray will lead the Vols into the thick SEC competition, looking to find his pace among college football's top QB's. With Coach Radio calling the shots, look for Bray to get his opportunity. The 2012 season could be a break out year for this young athlete, and if he leads UT to the SEC Championship, the 2012 season could be his for the taking. Texas A&M AggiesCoach: T2MVP Candidate HB - Christine Michael Coach Tracy returns to Saturday Heroes under the banner of his "beloved" Aggies. Without being completely honest and putting the Fake FG extraordinaire kicker as his MVP candidate, the next best in line is HB Christine Michael. Michael will see an immense carry load this season and with WR Swope getting attention on the outside, the middle of the field will be his for the taking. ----------------------------------------------------------- Iowa HawkeyesCoach: H22APWRD94 MVP Candidate QB - James Vandenberg For Coach Mike, it is all going to depend on his quarterback. With running back issues plaguing this team over the last couple of seasons, the leader will need to take control of his team and set the example. Vandenberg can be that guy and with weapons on the outside, he can find success in a conference loaded with good defense. Michigan WolverinesCoach: controllerabuser MVP Candidate QB - Denard Robinson Was there really any doubt on who would be the Michigan MVP candidate? The guy they call Shoelace is on some Heisman watch lists and has been a play maker in the Big10. He can run, he can throw and he can make you wish you put another defender on him. Coach Salas has one of the biggest weapons in the game. Penn State Nittany LionsCoach: Cimmy24 MVP Candidate HB - Silas Redd The Big10 is a conference known for pounding the football and nobody is more committed to finding success in the run game than Coach Cimmy and the Nittany Lions. Silas Redd has proven to be a threat in the run game and will make you miss. If he can stay healthy, he should be one of the top runners in the Big10. In order for this QB-less Lions squad to be successful, he must be. Ohio State BuckeyesCoach: ryty32 MVP Candidate QB - Braxton Miller With Urban Meyer's offense being put in place, Coach Ryty will be looking to Braxton Miller to lead this team to victory. This is Braxton's team. He will be the leader and the provider in order for this team to win ball games. It all rests on this young mans shoulders. Now it is time to see if he has what it takes.
