    Idaho is Vandalized
Tigers walk out with a 38-17 win.

LSU takes care of business in Week 1 as they didn't over look the Idaho Vandals. Seen some good things and bad things. Our run game was dominant as we carried 25 times for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns with Spencer Ware and Michael Ford leading the way. Rueben Randle was the go-to-guy when we needed that big play or 1st down. Defensively, we saw plays being made but Idaho gained a little too much yardage. That may have been due to nervousness of the season opener or traveling to Idaho. The true freshman Joey Thompson got a pick six in his first game. Barkevious Mingo led the defensive line with 2 sacks.
The LSU Tigers will travel next week to California to take on the USC Trojans.

Washington State Edges out Akron, 35-31

"Well, I'm surprised we were able to pull out the victory with the way we played today", Coach Wayers said, referring to his team's 5 turnovers. "Playing like that will not win us very many football games, but I'm proud of how our guys rallied at the end of the game". Being down 31-28 with around 3 minutes remaining, Cougar quarterback Jeff Tuel, led them down the field and hooked up with Andrei Lintz for the go ahead touchdown. " We work on two-minute drills everyday in practice and today it paid off", Tuel said.

    Bruins overcome First Half Blunders
4th Quarter surge puts UCLA on top

Boulder, CO - After giving up back-to-back-to-back defensive touchdowns early, the Bruins found themselves in a devastating 28-0 hole with no life showing in their offense. 30 minutes later, the Bruins crawled out of Colorado with a victory thanks to an all-star performance by QB Kevin Prince and the sure hands of Freshman (RS) WR Devin Lucien. "I am proud of these boys", Coach HackGolfer said. "Rather than hanging their heads and giving up, they fought their way back. This was an emotional win and should give us some momentum in conference play."

    Oklahoma State Slips Past Arizona
Ok St and Arizona battled to the wire in Tucson. The Wildcat defense forced 5 total sacks and 4 interceptions, making for an extremely rough day for QB Clint Chelf. The Cowboy defense kept Ok St hanging close and in the 4th quarter, Ok St took the lead down 13-10 on a 101 yard kickoff return TD by HB Joseph Randle. A Justin Gilbert interception in the endzone sealed the victory for Oklahoma St.

Texas Takes Care of Business Versus New Mexico
Despite some early struggles with the New Mexico offense, specifically QB Tarean Austin and his ability to extend plays, the Longhorns were able to fend off the attack. HB DJ Monroe (17 car, 148 yards, 2 TDs) would go down late in the 1st quarter, but QB Garrett Gilbert (12 of 24, 217 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT) was able to over come in his absence. Monroe would return in the 3rd quarter and the Longhorns would pull away. Up next is a trip to Morgantown as Texas takes on WVU in their first ever BigXII game.

Lewis and the Sooners are relieved after a near mishap against Florida State.

Oklahoma- The Sooners held off a much improved FSU team to get their second win in as many tries. Each team would trade scores back and forth throughout the contest. The difference in the game; believe it or not, was some defensive plays from the Oklahoma Sooners. SR DE, Ronnell Lewis, straight assaulted FSU's RT all game long to the tune of 4 tackles 3 sacks several QB pressures and a fumble recovery for a td late in the game that sealed the game for the Sooners. Oklahoma's star watch candidates, had minimal impact on the game as HB Brennan Clay sat out the entire game due to injury and MLB Wort making just 1 tackle. Next, a couple of byes (REALLY, CONSECUTIVE BYES, SMH) before opening conference play against the RG3 Bears.

    Final: 41 - 33 Sooners

A late INT-TD slams the door on UCLA's upset bid
    UCLA-Neb.JPG
Lincoln, NE - A quality effort by the UCLA Bruins still came up short Saturday, as Nebraska survived a scare at home, mostly thanks to a Courtney Osborne INT-TD in the 4th quarter. Bruin QB Brett Hundley has an abysmal day, throwing 4 interceptions and losing one fumble. The defense played pretty solid and kept a run happy QB Taylor Martinez in check all day, but couldn't make enough stops to bail out their offense.
Next week, the Bruins seek revenge on the UH Cougars who handed them a lopsided loss in Week 1 just a season ago.
    Tip Drill!
Freshman WR Devin Lucien bails out his QB after a tipped pass flutters toward the end zone.

    How Sweet It Is!
UCLA avenges their first loss of last season with a blowout

    UCLA-UH.JPG
Los Angeles, CA - The UCLA Bruins are starting to fire on all cylinders. All three aspects of the team were on the same page this week, as the Offense, Defense and Special teams all found a way to score. WR Randall Carroll kicked things off by returning the opening kickoff 103 yards for the score. Senior CB Sheldon Price finally made some noise, breaking up 3 passes (2 being INTs) and sprinting his way to the house. Late in the game, UH QB David Piland made a desperate attempt to throw under pressure which turned into UCLA's second INT-TD of the game and iced the Cougars for good.
Senior HB Johnathan Franklin helped UCLA control the time of possession with his 133 yard 2 TD performace on the day, and QB Brett Hundley bounced back from a poor performance last week with only one minor blemish (tipped INT). Next Week the UCLA Bruins (2-1) take on Mid Tenn State before hopping back into conference play.

    Usc takes down Cal
Usc would start this game off with a flourish as Barkley would throw 2 tds in the first quarter to give the USC a 14-0 lead. That wasnt good enough as Cal would score 21 unanswered and take a 21-14 lead. Usc would answer once again as Barkley throws his 3rd td in the first half to tie the game at 21. Cal would drive and kick a 51yd fg as time expired in the first half to take the lead 24-12. 2nd half Baxter would run the ball in from 3yds out and take a 28-24 lead. Usc once again would get a td pass from Barkley and make it 35-24. Cal would return the kick for a td and get the 2pt making it 35-32. Barkley would throw one more td to take a 42-32 lead. Usc would add a fg making it 45-32 but Cal would throw a td with 42 seconds left and Usc would recover the onside kneeling out the victory

UCLA makes it look easy in a visit to Mid Tenn State

    UCLA-MTS.JPG

Murfreesboro, TN - UCLA took a quick 14-0 lead to start the game off and never looked back. Senior HB Johnathan Franklin had another career day running for 147 yards and a score, while Fresman (RS) WR Devin Lucien added his fourth straight game with a reception by pulling in 3 grabs for 78 yards and 2 scores. QB Brett Hundley still continues to make vital mistakes (2 INTs) and will need to sharpen his pocket presence as the Bruins continue into conference play.

The Bruin defense played lights-out again, holding the Blue Raiders to only 111 yards of total offense and 5 first downs. UCLA also dominated the time of possession in this one, 21:24 to 6:36. Next week, the Bruins have a week off before facing Arizona State in Week 6.

Tigers Are Welcomed Into The SEC
    LSU puts down Mizzou, 35-26.
A much needed win for the LSU Tigers after losing last week to the Washington Huskies. A game that had some history to it as it was LSU's first time against Missouri in the SEC. Missouri jumped out to a 14-0 lead that had some in Death Valley panicked. Missouri wouldn't be able to finish what they started as LSU's strength and power took over. Spencer Ware finally put his foot down and beasted the Mizzou defense for 123 yards and 2 scores. Kadron Boone was Mettenberger's lethal weapon of the day with 4 receptions for 111 yards and 1 TD. Michael Ford and Alfred Blue combined for 10 carries and 76 yards on the day. Anthony Johnson had a monster game with 4 sacks.
LSU travels to Kentucky next week. It is now do or die every week.

Cougars Upset #19 Utah 37-34, Improve to 3-1
    Untitled.png
"Wow...what a game", Coach Wayers said after the game. "The guys played hard today and even when we were down 17 they didn't quit and thats what I like about this team". Washington State came in this game wanting to beat a ranked team for the first time in a long time and they did just that today. Utah took an early 17 point but Washington State would make the score 17-10 to end the first half. After a couple touchdowns and field goals the score would be 27-20 heading into the fourth quarter. After an early TD by Utah, the Cougars would respond with 17 points that included a 27 yard field as time expired to win the game. " Even though we had a lot of turnovers and we didn't play the way we wanted to, we proved we can overcome mistakes to win a football game", Wayers said.

    Interesting to say the least
What more can i say about this game but WOW. and not World of Warcraft you nerds. This game definately didnt start out well for the Usc Trojans as they came out and watch Utah score 17 unanswered points in the 1st quarter and lead 17-0 after one. Coach Big Sexy "we just got an arse whooping in the 1st quarter it was a sad and pathetic performance by us. I'm not sure if weforgot to take and get off the bus or what but a start like that was not what i wanted." From that point on the Trojans came out and layed down their own arse whooping. Baxter would run in for a td and then get a 3 and out. After that Mcneal would carry in the ball and score a td as well. On the kickoff Usc would lay a smack down on the returner and recover the fumble setting themselves up with a 9yd run from FB Vainuku as Utah seemed to blitz the OLBs alot and MLB would coer to the right the trojans decided to take their aggression and had a fb dive where it could of crawled into the endzone for the td. This made the score 21-17 and USC is back in business. Utah would throw 2 incomplete passes and then try a run play to run the clock but with 3 timeouts USC decided to use a timeout and get the ball back. Baxter would score from 4yds out to give the Trojans a 28-17 lead at halftime. Usc would grab 3 more tds in the second half one from Baxter one on a fumble return and another from 3rd string hb to win the game 49-17. "The way we came out after going down 17-0 was amazing. The passing game was a struggle this week as they seemed to always be in the right position and make everything difficult.
    Barkley 13-26 218yds 2 ints
