    Hi fellas,
So I'm going to keep this very simple...
I started the league with the intention of simming every other season, but it is OUR league. So let's vote on it.

There are going to be 3 options.... this will not change... vote for what you'd like. And deal with with the outcome accordingly

You will see the options above.

What is the purpose of that? Why not play every season?

I'm all against summing seasons....too much down time....especially for non-playoff teams.

2 weeks - 1 month between playing a user for them

For the guys who aren't used to swimming every other season....heres the benefits.
Mainly development of drafted players. When you sim every other season it gives owners a chance to develop your drafted players to become stars in the league. Rookies tend not to make a dramatic impact on a team for at least 2-3 seasons. Also gives the teams at the bottom a chance to rebuild their teams into SB contenders. You have to keep in mind that it's only a 12 month cycle before the next game drops so we try to get as many seasons in as possible. Simming seasons gives you a years worth of XP to spend on players to get them up into starting status.

Also if you have a bad draft.... You get to draft again right away for the next year. It really gives you a decent chance to rebuild a team in your image

But it doesn't have to take so long in between drafts....

To me the only problem simming is scouting points.

If we are okay with almost no scouting during the sim season you can do the entire sim season in a week including offseason to the draft

I picked sim to Super Bowl but I would much rather sim it all.. the least amount of downtime the better. but I'm pro sim a season

We already have one league on the site that does that, not a fan. I want to play as many games as possible.

your still gonna play the same amount of games.....this system gets us deeper into the cycle than is possible if you play every season

I will say this.... if we sim seasons.... I'm doing a shotgun hurry up offense on the downtime pace....but personally i think it would be fun to go and play every season... and shorten advance times...

In this case you actually won't:

*Sim season time means no games played.
*We started late in the cycle

I'm the kind of guy that wants it two ways:

    1) play all the games/seasons

    2) sim all the games/seasons

AND....the inability to scout during a sim season means 2nd draft is SEVERELY hampered.

We can easily just go to 48 hour advances starting season 2. :)

Because it has been so easy to get 48 hour advances now? Half the league doesn't even play within 48 hours. Simming a season would hurt the small amount of activity already present.

Simming a season and adding weeks of downtime is not the way to improve.

Though I will say, you can sim in less than a week. You could even sim over the coarse of a few days and do blocks of time where people could log in and have 10 minutes to scout in between advances. Not everyone would make it, but if you had 5 or six guys there you could post all of the scouting info for the whole league in advance of the draft

Well, I said "sim it all including the SB"

What I meant is, if we are going to sim why wait for the two random SB teams to play, just get past it all

There is a large enough group in here from HaW that it is going to be passed. Simming is dumb and hurts activity in leagues with low activity to begin with. You're going to alienate the most active members of your league by literally forcing them to be inactive while you sim.

Thinking about it, having every other draft be a crap shoot isn't terrible.

    As an example schedule.....

    Sunday: draft plus submit waivers
Monday: claim waivers, cut to 53
Tuesday: week 1, in season resigning opportunity, FA free for all
Wednesday: sim whole season to player resignings
Thursday: Skip to FA2, players get no week one offers, doesn't matter
    Friday: FA3
Saturday: final week of scouting, pre draft trades etc
    Sunday: Draft 2

Whole second season in one week

For the record grav, I'm down for play every season, especially if we can manage 48 hour advances

Also, this depends on your definition of "active." For some guys, the teambuilding, trading, drafting, etc is just as fun as the games. Simming seasons gives more opportunity for that aspect of the game
