Washington Redskins Game Summary Yr 1

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Washington D.C.- A new Era has brought new Change for Washington as the Zorn Era only lasted 2 yrs and a 12-20 record for the Skins. Daniel Snyder decided that was enough and brought in Mike Shannahan as the HC. 1st order was to Find a Offensive Cordinator. He brought in Coach Grad from Seattle (who's team really struggled last season in 10). and The Skin's brought in alot of Veteran Help with some major moves to the Chart. Mcnabb was released from Philly and Brought in to QB the Skin's after yrs after yrs of the Campbell experiment. Also Brought in "dirty yards" back Larry Johnson, and scat back willie parker to join Portis in the Backfield. this combo of experience backs should help Washington maintain the line and get the 5 to 6 yrds the backs are expected to bring on 1st and 2nd down. Washington lost LT Chris Samuels (who retired) and have a rookie on that side. so the left side is going to be a real challenge to see if the rookie can hold his own against the best the OMFL can Bring.

On Defense there was very little change, as the line will be anchored by Haynesworth and Daniels and the LB Core will be Led by Veteran London Fletcher. "TroubleMaker" D-Hall will help anchor the Corner. and Doughtry will return at SS. and the Kicking Duties will once again be done by Gano.

So all and all This will be an interesting yr for the Skins. New Coach, New Cordinator and New QB. Old Faces, New Places.

Skins kick off the New Yr in Week 1 vs their Rival The Dallas Cowboys.

Come Back as I will be following the Skins all yr long and Bring u stories (Good and Bad, Wins and Losses). in this the New yr of the OMFL 11.

    Washington Loses in OT.

D.C.- In the Season Opener for both teams it was hard to say who was more ready. The answer was Both Teams were ready. Washington won the Toss and elected to Kick and get the ball 2nd Half. Not a Good Decision as Jones returned it all the way for the TD and a Quick 7-0 lead for the Boys. Washington (not fazed) put together a great drive and drove down the field with run and pass combo and Mcnabb found Cooley for the TD and a 7-7 tie. Then Dallas had a case of the drops, as they coughed up the ball 4 times in this game, which led to Washington points as the Skins extended their lead to 21-7 through 3 quarters. Then in the 4th Quarter Washington held Dallas to a Punt and began to drive the ball down the field with a combo of run and pass. Then in Dallas territory Washington's Off Cord CoachGrad called for a screen pass and it was completed to Sellers and had a 1st down but coughed up the ball and Dallas recovered. Dallas then Drove it down and Scored with a Romo to Witten TD Pass and Dallas cut the lead to 21-14. Then Washington then got the ball back and drove the ball before hitting a snag in the drive and Shannhan decided to punt the ball and hope his defense could hold the lead. Dallas put together a great drive with it coming down to under a min left in the game. then after holding Dallas on the 1st 3 downs at the Skins 3 yrd line, Dallas called for a pass to Witten and he took it in for the tying Td and 21-21 deadlock. Washington Tried to Get the ball down the field in Regulation but it did not work. so OT here we come.

In OT Washington won the Toss and decided to recieve the ball. Washington could not get anything going and punted the ball which went out at the skins 45 yrd line. Then Dallas decided to run and get in Fg position. Then Dallas's Kicker nailed a 58 yrd kick for an exhausting 24-21 win.

News of Note. Haynesworth was injured in the 4th Quarter and will be out for 2 weeks.

    Skins Lose 36-6

DC- Washington coming off their close loss to the Boys last week, had a real meltdown as the Texans scalped the Skins 36-6. The Skins Defense was scorched for 232 yrds rushing and 188 passing. Coach Shannahan had this to say, "we just didn't show up this week and it showed plus we lost 2 more players to injuries. the good thing is after our week 3 we get haynesworth back. The Team is going to get ripped in practice and we will come out better the next week".

Skins started out with the ball and had a good drive going and then Mcnabb threw his 1st of 3 picks in the game. The Texans drove the ball down and scored a td and a 7-0 lead. The Texans continued to get 3 & out's and the Texans extended their lead to 21-0 at the half. the 2nd half was a little better as the Skins finally did get in the end zone but after the lead was 30-0. Gano missed the xtra pnt (thanks to the lag spike) and the Texans led 30-6. Then tate took the ball 66 yrds and scored another Td for a 36-6 lead. Washington had another good drive going and Mcnabb was sacked at the 3 yrd line on 4th down. then the texans ran out the clock.

GG Moogle it was definatly a offnight for me.
