Sliders Thread

    This will be a work in progress over season 1. I want everyone to feedback with what you think should be changed. I will post what we use tonight. It will be heisman and pretty close to default, only tweaking a few things at first like interceptions and break tackle.

    I think we need to keep it what it is for the whole season whatever we start with. We can test tweaks outside of the game. Wouldn't be fair if someone got a hard non conference game and we relented, or had a tough game the week after moving to a much more difficult set.

    Don't we want to use the first season as more of a test run anyways? I would rather stamp out a strong set asap then not mess with it again for a long while. This going along with the faster pace reasoning

    I would rather stamp out a strong set in non dynasty games, even if that means not starting for another couple of days.

    you could always move the sliders gradually - for example if we think we need a big change in say CPU RB ability [+15], just do +5 each week until we get to where we want

    this way there is no drastic change from one week to the next

    Yeah but you have to recruit them and the first season is arguably the most important for that. If people are dropping games at different times through out the season and there are different settings for those circumstances it doesn't look good for any of us. I am fine with starting soon, I just think we shouldn't tweak the sliders during the season.

    Yep, this is where you start getting your players in though. And the prestige change (or lack of) will help / hurt you most in the long run.

    Having actually just read through the sliders in the constitution, I can only assume those are not the ones we will be starting with correct?

    Correct, those are old. I'm not going to tweak much off of default heisman.

    This is what the Eleague guys have been working on. This may be a good starting point. Any suggestions or tweaks from anyone? Somebody can try these if they want. This will be Heisman and 7 Min QTRs, Normal Speed.

    Kick off power seems low. The reason so much stuff is going out of the end zone is because they moved the kick off up to the 35 yard line. It's also a little bit tougher to kick the long field goals - I don't think I will be blasting 54 yarders consistently even if I get a good kicker... plus it might be a good thing to not have to know how far your guy can kick in user games as this will make it different than the CPU games. CPU doesn't seem to be blasting crazy long stuff anyway. If we don't want to make them free, we can lower the accuracy even more than that... though they still won't be that hard.


    Other than that it would probably be nitpicking (I don't think the CPU needs a hit in QBA, WRC, nor do I think the user needs a boost in PB). Can't really say anything for certain without having played them though... I will try to play a game or two tomorrow night.

    FG/ kickoff is defiantly something we CAN tweek mid season as needed

    I'm also of the opinion that we shouldn't tweak the sliders during the season, AND that the 1st season is the most important.

    I played a game last night with the initial set you posted and it played fine, so I am good with this set to start.

    PIG BOMB I didn't see anything about the threshold so I played mine on default.

    Human pass rush needs some help. CPU qb's have all day to throw.
    Speed threshold needs to come down some. My good running backs (including speed back with 95 speed) are not going to have a run for more than 15 yards this season.

    Funny, I have not had any problem getting sacks or breaking for long runs. Maybe it your defense...and your offense :).

    Yeah my back and WRs can out run people consistently, the threshold isn't bothering my yet. We don't get any sacks but I'm not sure if its because of the sliders or if its because my dline is terrible, equal chance on that.
