    Sliders

Getting these from the boys over at Tradition & The Experience. Looks like Hellisan has come up with a pretty good set in these. Some of you guys test these out during the day for me.

We are lookin at 6 or 7 min quarters this year. Lookin at some of the other guys comments, play clock is a little more accelerated for '11. From talking to Shaun, Set 2 is some good tough sliders so make sure to check them out for me.

We are looking for really tough games from the CPU. So no whining if the CPU kicks your ass a few times.

    Set 1:

Try these sliders when you get time guys.

All penalties to 95 except Holding, Facemask, and Clipping at Default.

Thats what we used last year and we had no complaints. But from the looks of it, 7 is a more common number I am seeing for '11.

Is 6 way too short IMO?

My vote would be to leave it as is for the first season until everyone gets a hang of the game. We will have plenty of seasons to fine tune the game to our liking as we go, but like I said, lets get use to the game before we go crazy with the sliders. Also, I would not mess with the speed of the game. That could get really confusing to some of us in more than one league. The game speed seems fine to me.

This year the clock actually is an accelerated clock, it runs time down between plays. The Experience will use 8-9 I think. It is really about getting a realistic number of plays in.

Are saying you want to leave all settings and sliders as default for year one? As far as game speed, i feel its waayyy to easy to get on the edge on someone IMO.

I haven't had a lot of people breaking runs on the outside on me. I also have not broken many runs on the outside.

Are you talking the computer? That is because the CPU is retarded at running the ball by default.

I am referring to games I have played against other users. I have a harder time stopping the CPU in the running game than I do playing a user.

Sliders have no effect on user vs user games, at least that is how it has always been.

The default AA CPU running game is VERY weak, you must be a beast against other users.

I agree with pounder, leave it as is at least until we come upon some egregious fault. I have played about four games on AA and the only non-sim aspect is that the CPU running game is a bit weak, as others have mentioned.

The quarters do need to be seven minutes.

As I was tellin RTP earlier, if we went with the default sliders. We would be the only league in TF doin it I believe.

if the other TF leagues slid down a razor blade into a pool of alcohol, would cream of the crop do so also? (n)

one thing i have to say early on is this... lets do the best we can to not get carried away with the sliders. that was one of the main reasons i personally left last year is b/c we tweaked them sooooo much that i didnt think the game was real anymore. i actually think we should stay default for year 1. at that point revisit everything and vote as a league on what needs to be changed or not changed. just wanted to chime in on my take.

We wont make drastic changes, but we are trying to be realistic. Trust me, solid leagues like Xbox: The Tradition & The Experience arent making sliders for fun....they are to make the game realistic. For example, Colorado should have to scratch, crawl, and pray to God in order to beat a Texas or any other powerhouse it's first few years. That's what were striving for. Accurate difficulty.

i would agree with you on this. the sliders make the game more realistic. i've been playing against the computer with my Maryland team and have found it easy to move the ball against good teams. should not be this way. yes i have good players put as a whole my team shouldn't be pushing around LSU

Agreed. We are striving for competitive and tough sliders. That's it. Their should definetley be CPU losses in this year's game from the improvements I have seen.

On the User vs User sliders I saw Ryno post this. We will probably roll with his opinion since he knows the game front to back.

IF we change anything, please let it be minimal. That is all I am asking. I know other leagues are doing this and that, but can't we be a little different. I know last season some of those same leagues used other strategies that we decided against here. It is ok for us to do our own thing.

Okay, I am going to say this one last time before I go insane.......lol

We ARE NOT copying anybody. I just posted those to "Test". We are trying to achieve tough CPU games versus the ones that are suppose to be tough.

I dont think anything will be drastic.

We will know more for sure tonight where we stand on them, myself and JFunk will be testing stuff out thru the night.

Again sticking my nose in here:

The best way to avoid change you don't want is to test and provide input that HELPS the case you are trying to argue. Not changing just for the sake of familiarity is difficult if you can test and find a better method. But, if you have no data to argue with, the guy testing and finding what he thinks is going to work will win every time.
