Comes out in a few short weeks.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for TSO to hold some sort of tournament/league with this game. I have been in them before and they are a blast. It wouldn't be hard at all to do, and the game is so deep it really is fun to master (or try to). I do, however, come in understanding that MMA is not everyones cup of tea to say the least. It is gaining steam and is becoming a huge sport, with MMA Live on ESPN now and UFC signing a deal with FOX along with smaller promotions like Strikeforce on Showtime and Bellator on MTV2/SpikeTV.

I know controllerabuser and G_T_G are talking about making a league, and I am 100% interested but I think we should try and get as many guys as possible and have a solid structure ready. I am such a big fan of combat sports (boxing and MMA in particular but I follow a little K1 along with grappling tournaments) and have really been thinking lately about this.

Here are my ideas for a league on TSO that would be fun and work....

Tradition Online Fighting Championship (or TOFC for short) would be our internet equivalent of the UFC/PRIDE/BELLATOR. We would hold a draft similar to any other NCAA/MADDEN/NBA league on here would for teams, but instead of teams we would draft fighters from different weight divisions. I think the best way to do this is pick 2 or 3 weight classes that would hold the most interested or are the deepest (Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight and Lightweight come to mind as the deepest in MMA today) and have guys take a fighter.

From there we could run a TOFC tournament to establish the "CHAMPION".

After that we would run "FIGHT CARDS" every week with fights in each division. Winners would move up or down on the rankings that would be established from the initial tournament. Title fights and contender matches along with undercard for guys who need to move up in rankings every week.

What do you guys think? Would any of the "higher ups" be welcoming to such a league?

And yes, I realized I posted this in the wrong forum. I am in class right now and was rushing to get my post off before my class is dismissed, I apologize lol.

I think this would be a fantastic addition to TSO.

A league sounds daunting but in reality it would be very easy to set up. Like he said, we just use a weight class.. have an opening tourney to decide who champion is and then create matchups from there on.

A tournament I think sounds more appealing to people so maybe we can set up a release tourney and then if people are interested in a league we can go on from there.

I think this would be a lot of fun. Since this is a new thing on TSO, once it gets going everyone can have input on it and make it better and better.

I think it will be fun.. should not take away from any of your other leagues since matches shouldn't take more than 10 minutes usually.

Heck, a tourney could be finished in a single night if everyone got together.

We actually used to have a UFC league back when the first game came out.

It was short lived, but we had a fraction of the users back then. I think we had 5 NCAA leagues.

Yeah I know what you mean.

Well, hopefully we can garner interest so that enough guys are interested at least for a few tournaments or a small league.

Hopefully we will fare better since there are more users than the one that preceded us.

Right AND the fact that it is even more mainstream now then it was when it came out 2 or 3 years ago. It is really turning big time.

I think at the very least we could get a big enough group to hold 1 weight class, if not 2 or 3.

    http://www.pastapadre.com/2012/01/13/ufc-undisputed-3-fighter-ratings-gradually-making-their-way-out

According to Pasta Padre, here are some ratings for the game. Most of the ratings are lightweights, bantamweights and featherweights.

    Dominick Cruz - 92
    Urijah Faber – 91
    Demitrious Johnson - 90
    Miguel Torres - 89
    Brian Bowles - 89
    Norifumi Yamamoto - 88
    Takeya Mizugaki - 88
    Joseph Benavidez - 89
    Scott Jorgensen - 89
    Damacio Page - 86
    Eddie Wineland - 87
    Charlie Valencia - 84
    Antonio Banuelos - 85
    Chris Cariaso - 84
    Jason Miller - 88
    Michael Bisping - 87
    Nate Diaz - 87
    BJ Penn - 90
    Jose Aldo - 93
    Chad Mendes - 90
    Kenny Florian - 89
    Mark Hominick - 88
    Manvel Gamburyan - 88
    George Roop - 85
    Fredson Paixao – 85
    Javier Vasquez - 87
    Mike Brown - 87
    Josh Grispi - 85
    Leonard Garcia - 84
    Raphael Assuncao - 85
    Tiequan Zhang - 84
    Erik Koch - 88
    Anthony Pettis - 89
    Donald Cerrone - 88
    Clay Guida - 87
    Dennis Siver - 81

Most shocking to me is Dennis Siver being only an 81 considering his nice win streak he had going...Eric Koch being rated so high at 88 when he hasn't really proved anything yet...and Michael Bisping being an 87. I expected him to be much higher.

Also even though he is from Chicago, it is BS that Miguel Torres is an 89.

If this game is much improved I may get it , I am a MMA junkie but the last game was pure poop , so I would need good reviews from you guys. The concept of fighting guys who understand that spamming a jab the whole fight is ghey/unsim is promising ..... THQ servers not so promising , I will check in to see how you guys like it. Any PS3 guys getting the beta for it ?(I had not heard 360 has a beta for the game )

Demo dropped today. I am in-class so haven't had a chance to try it out.

    From Pasta Padre:
The demo for UFC Undisputed 3 is now available for download on the Xbox 360 (can be queued up here) and will be arriving on the PS3 this afternoon. It features two different matchups that run just one round – Jon Jones vs Anderson Silva under standard UFC rules and presentation and ‘Rampage’ Jackson vs Wanderlei Silva in Pride mode. Leave your thoughts on the demo in the comments and look for videos and impressions later in the week!
