Today is my first wedding anniversary. My wife and I celebrated in yesterday. It was a very good day, and I feel the need to share it. For starters, I slept in. Got up at 11:45 AM, and after a shit, shower and shave, I accompanied my wife to Art in the Park in La Veta, Colorado. La Veta is 7,100 above sea level and it was 30 degrees cooler there than where I live. WIN.

I told my wife that she could buy any piece of art she wanted for her anniversary present. She bought the following oil painting by a guy named John Tracy from Mountain View, Oklahoma.

The dude is a truck driver and one of the coolest people that I have ever met. I absolutely love meeting people who remind me the dangers of stereo-typing. You would never think this guy was an artist. My wife loves the painting and so do I. WIN. It is the first piece of art that I have ever purchased, and I enjoyed the experience so much that I bought this second painting from the guy for myself.

John and his wife invited us to stay at their house next time we drive home to Mississippi or Louisiana. We might do it. My wife said that I needed to name the three Indians in the painting. I named them Frisk, Bob and Sporty. WIN.
When we go back to the house, a thunderstorm system had moved through our area and the temperature dropped so much that it was nice enough to hit the back porch, crank some tunes on the iHome, uncork a couple bottles of wine and cook out with my two best friends. WIN.

Brats, chicken and fresh corn on the grill. WIN.

After dinner, my wife surprised me with my anniversary gift. Fucking iPad 3. First page that I navigated to and bookmarked was Hard Knocks. HUGE WIN.

You hit the fucking nail on the head as usual sporty. It is a "nice going" scenario as opposed to a "congrats" with me. First damn smart, sensible long term decision/commitment that I have ever made. Only took me 38 years to to get my shit together. Definitely had some arrested development issues through the years, but I am all grown up now, happily married, and playing in a 32 man Madden league. Had I joined here two years ago, i think only part of that last sentence would be true.

And FYI, you are the Indian in the middle sporty.

Scary thing is that scenario could play out and those feet could be his wife's. I am pretty sure the man was a God fearin' type that don't care none too much for Sundusky. It actually came up in conversation. I am from Mississippi so I know a "bubba" when I see one. I could not find a way to subtly take a picture of of his trailer he was pulling or it would be here. There were a multitude of stickers on the back which probably explains the guy. Amongst them were:

    "Impeach Obama"

"Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Jefferson Davis"

"My Boss Is A Jewish Carpenter"

"They'll Take My Gun When They Pry It From My Cold, Damn Fingers"

In addition, there were two Jesus fish.

And my wife has been reading the Fifty Shades of Gray. I think she might be getting into "no" meaning "yes." She gave a synopsis of the first book and apparently this author is about to release a lot of women looking to explore the dominant/submissive fetish shit. I am a bit concerned. She told me that a lot of butt plugs were involved in the books. I don't know what to make of that.
