The inaugural season of 1st and 10 is winding to down to be one of great finishes. Both the AFC and NFC have amazing races in place as we enter week 14. All the divisions aside from the AFC south have 2-3 team races and in fact the entire NFC playoff picture can be changes with a win here or a win there can completely change the landscape. The NFC East currently has the cowboys and eagles both tied with 7-5 records The cowboys have games remaining vs the Packers (7-5) Jets (8-4) Bills (6-6) and Division rival redskins (5-6-1). The interesting part about this is while the Eagles are in the cowboys way they the two teams have split the series and are 1-1 vs each other. Winning the division is imperative for the cowboys as falling into the NFC wild card pool could be chaos as they have lost head to head match ups with the Saints and Seahawks both teams that are 7-5 and have a upcoming game vs the Packers which are also 7-5 Sheesh. The playoff picture for the Eagles isn't any less muddy as they are also 7-5 with games remaining vs Bills (6-6) cardinals (6-6) Skins (5-6-1) and Giants (4-8) you would think that the eagles have a slightly easier road ahead however they can least avoid another loss as they loss head to heads to the Saints and Lions both (7-5) as well as the panthers who are (6-6) best situation for the Eagles which is obviously the best for every team remaining is to win all remaining games. The skins have a outside shot at winning the division at 5-6-1 however the lost they had this past week to the cowboys (7-5) was a huge blow, however isn't over with a remaining schedule vs the Bears (6-6) bills (6-6) eagles and cowboys both (7-5) the skins would need a little help but must win out to still have shot to win the division. losses combined with the tie they had week 1 and previous loses to the eagles and cowboys would close the door. The NFC South is currently lead by the New Orleans Saints at (7-5) followed by the Panthers (6-6) and with a outside shot the Falcons are still alive at (5-7). The Saints are in the drivers seat with games vs the Bucs (2-10) Lions and Jags (7-5) and divisional rival Falcons (5-7) the saints split with the panthers and need to make sure they win out and win the final game vs the Falcons to keep the door close for the division, but with head to head wins vs the eagles cardinals and skins anything short of a collapse will keep them in the playoff picture. The Panthers at 6-6 may have the easiest road ahead with 2 games vs the 5-7 falcons a game with the (4-8) giants and a season finale with the rebuilding (2-10) Bucs just winning their remaining games will keep them in the picture as losses to the packers and cowboys shouldn't hurt them as they have beat the seahawks and eagles. The Falcons outside shot will require winning out as the division can still be had with 3 divisional games remaining but they easily have the toughest road remaining with 2 vs the panthers 1 vs the Jags (7-5) and one vs division leading Saints. The NFC West is a 2 team race between the Seahawks and cardinals the Hawks have a leg up with already beating the cardinals in one of the head to head games they have with the other to be the last week of the season . The Hawks have games remaining vs the Ravens (7-4) Browns (4-7) Rams (4-8) and then the cardinals (6-6). Arizona has a much more challenging schedule with games vs the Vikings (8-4) eagles (7-5) packers (7-5) and then the seahawks. The tough part for the cardinals is all 4 teams remaining on their schedule are battling for their divisions and are well aware that these head to head battles will surly play apart in deciding who receives a wild card birth. Last but not least the NFC North not one team under .500 what a division those that don't have to deal with those 4 teams are missing all the fun. The Vikings currently have the lead in the division with a 8-4 records and a split in the season series vs the Lions and a current 1-0 lead in the series with the packers. They can control their own destiny by wining out and securing a bye week in round 1 of the playoffs they have a remaining schedule of the cardinals (6-6) Bears (6-6) which they are currently 0-1 against the giants (4-8) and what could be a rest game or the most important game of the season for them vs the Packers (7-5) The Lions will be able to secure a playoff spot by simply winning out but it will be a challenge the rest of the way without Starting qb Stafford they are however 2-2 in the last 4 without him. Remaining games vs the rams (4-8) Saints (7-5) niners (3-9) and bears (6-6) The Packers have the same faith just win out and they are in not a easy task with games vs the Cowboys (7-5) Raiders (6-6) cardinals (6-6) and division leader Vikings (8-4) The Bears will need a little help at 6-6 but with a game this week vs the skins (5-6-1) and a game remaining vs the Vikings a team they have already beat once the NFC worst Bucs and a chance to split vs the Lions to end the season the door is still open. The NFC is wide open and the last week of the season is poise to be the best week maybe in gaming football history.
