At least all we do is drink and try and have a good time. The University of South Carolina cannot help the fact that most Clemson incidents are swept under the rug. There are numerous incidents that happen in Tigertown that none of us have even heard of. Is it because the Community has their back? Of course. Thats the difference of living in a low poulated town than a big city like Columbia. Like i said, at least Carolina mainly get caught drinking under age...unlike Clemson abusing and beating and slashing girls with razor blades. At least we dont have assault charges galore like Clemson has.

Just a tad bit of what I pulled from the internet.

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Joe Craig has been suspended from the Clemson football team and will not be allowed to participate in voluntary summer workouts, coach Dabo Swinney announced Tuesday.
Craig was previously suspended from competition with the track team on May 24 due to a violation of team rules. "Joe Craig has been suspended from the football team for the summer workout period," Swinney said. "Because this is a serious on-campus student issue, there is a process that he will have to go through from a university standpoint. I respect the process and will fully support whatever the university decides to do. We will react from a football standpoint after that process has run its course, but I cannot comment any further at this time on the details of this specific issue."
Craig and female track athlete Marlena Wesh were involved in an altercation last month that left both students injured, according to a Clemson University police report.

Both Craig and Wesh have declined to press charges and an assault and battery complaint has been withdrawn.
Clemson University police responded to a campus area apartment May 22 to find Wesh bleeding from the forehead. Craig was located in a car near the apartment with a deep laceration to his arm, requiring an officer to tie a shirt around his arm to slow the bleeding until emergency medical personnel arrived, the report said.
Wesh told officers that she and Craig had argued at a party earlier that night. She said Craig later showed up at her apartment and that she "feared for her safety."
The police report says Wesh struck Craig with an eyebrow razor and Craig then struck her with a towel rod.

Two weeks after Clemson University head football coach Dabo “Dat Boy” Swinney kicked senior defensive tackle Jamie Cumbie off of the team for a vicious assault on a fellow student, there are unconfirmed reports that other Clemson players may have been involved in the attack.
One player reportedly at the scene of the beating was senior wide receiver Terrance Ashe. It is unclear whether Ashe was involved in the assault, which occurred on May 28 in Clemson, but sources tell FITS that the projected starter is currently under investigation by local authorities related to the incident.
Cumbie was booted from the program on June 3 for a violation of team rules after being arrested for “assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.” It is unclear at this point whether or not Ashe will be charged by police – or suspended by Swinney.
The victim in this attack – who is reportedly related to a former University official – suffered multiple facial fractures, facial lacerations, two black eyes and a cerebral hematoma.

It appears Clemson Football Coach Dabo Swinney has not only to deal with filling coaching jobs on his staff but now has to deal with the arrest of freshman offensive tackle Brandon Thomas. Thomas was arrested over the weekend in his hometown of Spartanburg and charged with public disorderly conduct.
Thomas, a backup player in 2010, was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Facility at 1:48 a.m. Sunday morning and later released on a bond of $262. The charge against the 19 year old is a misdemeanor.
The reason I share this is for some reason, many media outlets in South Carolina do not like to write bad things about the CU Tigers. This Gamecocks blog will not standby and let it things like this go unnoticed because if this was a USC player it would be breaking news on every media site in South Carolina. We just want it to be - "fair and balanced" in the words of Fox News plus it is our rival. Trust us, we know kids make mistakes and we hope Thomas learns from his error, we just want the media to share the news fairly about each sports program in the state.

Clemson backup defensive lineman Jamie Cumbie, 22, was dismissed from the program for what Tiger coach Dabo Swinney said was a violation of team rules.
Swinney made the announcement Thursday. He thanked Cumbie for his four years at school and said Cumbie will be playing his final season somewhere else.
A news release issue on Thursday from the Clemson Police Department said Cumbie was arrested on May 28 after officers responded to an assault call at about 2 a.m.
Officers said they found an injured person at the intersection of North Clemson Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue.
The victim's nose was broken in several places, he had six or seven broken facial bones, brain swelling, two black eyes, broken teeth, numerous lacerations in his mouth and strained muscles in his neck and back, according to the warrant.
The victim was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police said Cumbie admitted to the assault. He is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. He was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.
Cumbie is 6 feet, 7 inches tall and 290 pounds. He played in 13 of 14 games last year, making 53 tackles. He had a career-high nine tackles in a 34-17 loss at South Carolina last November.
The warrant said that Cumbie is 6 inches taller than the person he assaulted and out-weighs him by 100 pounds.
Swinney said Cumbie was on track to graduate from Clemson in August.

CENTRAL, S.C. -- Clemson football player DeAndre McDaniel was arrested over the weekend and charged with assaulting his girlfriend at his apartment in Central.
According to a Central Police Department report, McDaniel's girlfriend reported that she was at his apartment early Saturday morning when they began to argue about another woman.
The girlfriend told police that the argument led to McDaniel choking and punching her and pushing her down a flight of steps.
She suffered a neck injury as well as multiple bruises, according to the police report.
According to a warrant, McDaniel is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature because of the severity of the injuries and the difference in size between McDaniel, who is 6 feet tall and 210 pounds and his girlfriend, who is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and 107 pounds.
McDaniel, 20, is a sophomore defensive back who played in all 13 of Clemson's games last season and was projected to be a starter for this year's team.
"We are aware of the situation involving DeAndre McDaniel and we are currently in the process of gathering all the facts," the Clemson athletic department said in a statement released Monday afternoon.

CENTRAL - Clemson University sophomore and star defensive football player Maurice McDaniel was arrested Saturday night and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
McDaniel, of 118 University Village Apartments, is accused of abusing his 19-year old girlfriend at his residence, according to a Central Police incident report.
At 8 p.m., a call came into the Central Police department in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, Sgt. Eddie McCall spoke with the victim who said she had been badly beaten by her boyfriend, McDaniel, the report said.
The incident began when the victim asked about his behavior pertaining to an earlier time that night at a local club.
From there, McDaniel put a comforter over her head and "began choking her and jerking her head up and down," the report said.
She then stated that he struck her with his fists in her face and around her head, the report said.
During the incident, McDaniel continued to verbally abuse and threaten the victim by saying he would "break her neck," the report said.
The altercation subsided only after McDaniel shoved the victim down a flight of stairs and followed her to her car and then punched her in the chest.
McDaniel was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond and is awaiting further action.
The victim was treated at Oconee Memorial Hospital with "serious bodily injury including chest and facial contusions and a neck sprain," a report said.
McDaniel played in all 13 games last season and was a head prospect out of high school in Tallahassee, Fla.

Shall I continue with the assault charge list?

I count 26 players arrested, and that is going back to 1989...I could be wrong but I think USuC's list is alittle longer. :)

Wow so your argument is that we have a tad bit more players getting into trouble than clemsons??? Oh well you win then. I guess just throw your lust away then bc Clemson student athletes are perfect angels.

BigKing I'm watching Espn and he might have missed the tag. They are really talking about this this morning. There's 2 different angles.

That call would have never been made if the catcher would have made a real tag instead of that wimpy looking swipe he did

Even if he missed the tag, which he certainly didn't, the ump called Lugo safe before he ever touched the bag. It was crap.

don't forget about those clemson football players a few years ago getting drunk on lake hartwell, with an assitant coach, and then one of the drunk players ran over the coach with a wave runner killing him. Oh but it was all an accident and no one was drinking... Damn hillbillies!

Oh and just in case anyone didn't know, the police chief of Pickens County is a huge Clemson homer whose office is decked out in that horrible color. So if you think justice is being served up there to anyone on scholarship you ARE mistaken!

The call should have been out. but from the replays shown that espn has been showing all morning it does look as though he missed the tag.
