    Sports Talk

    Guys,

I know we have a sports specific forum here at TF, but I was thinking today about a more general sports forum site. There is a fantastic one for Ohio sports called JJHuddle, but it recently became a pay site.

Are there any really good sports conversation sites out there I am missing, or should I create one? Would you guys use something like that? I imagine a site where you could connect with local fans and talk about sports, kind of like a craigslist/topix, but just for sports.

    What do you guys think?

    Shaun

You could probably support a site like that just from our members.

If you were to do one I could help you out if you wanted.

There are really no good ones that I have found that are nationwide.

    It could be huge.

Most of the good sites are localized....with the range of people here you could have a lot of good discussion from all over.

Rivals.com (now owned by Yahoo) is the college hotspot right now.

Here in South Dakota we have a sdsportstalk.com ... it is largely high school kids logging on during computer class (or regular class with the recent integration of technology - aka laptops) and talking smack to each other.

I'd like a sports forum. I'm a member of the Clemson Rivals site and enjoy that. My only issue with open sports forums, people making stupid comments and can't be serious. I see it mostly on Facebook when the College Gameday page post questions about Heisman or National Championship, you have your fans who throw out their teams best player or their team is going 12-0 and destroying every opponent, you guys know what I'm talking about, people who don't realize the reality side of the sport, I don't really see that as a problem here from stuff I've read though

Your idea sounds like something I would visit. It would be interesting to try and model it after the more mature atmosphere of TF ... I used to visit PFT alot but that sight sometimes just degenerates into name calling and all that other kid stuff...by the way Sportsbabble.com sounds great and I like the s because it doesn't limit the talk to just one sport...
