Tony Romo Lives up to Reputation as Cowboys Fall 42-45 to Saints!!!!

    1.jpg

The Saga that is Tony Romo continues after another let down in a big game on a big stage. Romo had 346 passing yards, but had 2 costly fumbles and 1 interception. This game does nothing for his reputation, as he was responsible for all THREE of the Cowboys turnovers.

the bright side for the Cowboys is the young record setting receiver Dez Bryant who had 9 receptions for 3 touchdowns and 245 receiving yards. Bryant seems to be the sole weapon for the Cowboys as his second best receiver on the day was there runningback Willis McGahee.

Bryant and McGahee weren't enough against the offensive super power that is the New Orleans saints. Drew Brees is the antithesis of Romo in big games and had 2 Touchdowns and 346 yards passing and no turnovers. Brees also had 30 rushing yards and managed to connect with over 7 different receivers.

The thing that makes this Saints team so tough, is that they do everything well, as they also had 173 yards rushing on the ground. If you think you have the run game stopped, they will pass it and vice versa.

In my opinion you will see this high scoring Saints team in the Super Bowl!!!

ROETHLISBERGER CONSOLES LUCK AFTER A ROUGH GAME

Big Ben might have had the easiest playoff win of his career against the young Indianapolis Colts. Big Ben threw only 11 passes for 113 yards and 1 touchdown, and the defense did the rest. Andrew Luck was picked off 4 times, with 2 of those interceptions being returned for touchdowns. Donald Brown also had a fumble during the game, and having 5 turnovers in ANY game is a recipe for disaster.

Andrew Luck had a few bright moments in the game connecting with Veteran receiver Reggie Wayne and rookie T.Y. Hilton for scores. He has a bright career ahead of him, and will do well in the future. You can see he got a little tentative with his passing and started checking it down to running back Donald Brown, who ended the day with 6 receptions.

The Colts will be surely heading into this off season to acquire some more talent to put around rookie quarterback Andrew Luck. He will be a force to be reckoned with one he gets a few guys around him that can make big plays!! Look for the Colts to be active this off season!!!

The Steelers will advance to play the winner of the Patriots and Dolphins in the game later tonight set to kickoff at 8:30 EST.

PATRIOTS FALL TO STOUT MIAMI DEFENSE!!!

    2.jpg

The lack of offense from the Patriots is not what anyone expected to see from one of the top quarterbacks in NFL history and his abundance of weapons. The Dolphins kept there defense simple, but was very effective. When Brady was asked about the defense he said " They disguised the zone well in the first half and made it look like they were going to stay in man coverage, and when in man coverage we just didn't win the battles off the line". Miami stayed in zone for most of the game, and when they did play man they pressed which was effective.

Reggie Bush started the game with a band and scored on a long 48 yard run on the first drive to set the pace. The Dolphins had a scary moment when Bush went down in the second half when he was hit hard and fumbled the ball. He was diagnosed with a dislocated finger and returned to the game the next drive.

When asked about this game, Coach Zalizniak was very blunt in saying "we came in expecting to win, and should have. This is not a loss that we will get over anytime soon. We will be looking to get right back out there next season, and will be a lot more aggressive on defense with Revis coming back from his ACL injury to play corner for us".

Miami will go on the face the heavily favored Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh this weekend!!
