Utah Running Backs Under the Microscope

Utah has been a destination for quality spread running backs over the years. But 2011 brings some uncertainty as the Utes have four backs at their disposas. What will the coaches do with these studs in the fall?

DJ Harper (seen above) has beaten out Donald Martin for the starting halfback position. The decision was made from the simply fact that Harper adds a little speed to the Bronco offense. But Donald will be a crucial part of the Boise State team.

Oregon St is pretty much settled on Ryan Katz as the starting QB, but he doesn't have it hands down. Redshirted last year, RS FR Sean Mannion could get the role if Katz slips up.

Mannion's greatest stat compared to Katz is that he has a little more power in his arm, and is much faster than Katz.

One serious position battle is the job for starting Center.

Right now our best Center, is RS FR Roman Sapolu, a 69 OVR. LGs Ryan Pohl or Grant Johnson are likely to start depending on which one can handle the pivotal position better.
