Stanford Cardinals 2012 Stanford 28 - Michigan 23 After a disappointing opening loss to UNC, Stanford bounced back and got a much needed win against a tough Michigan team. Stanford jumped out to a 28-10 third qtr. lead and held on to win 28-23. Stepfan Taylor led the Stanford offense with 135 rushing yds. and 2 TD. Taylor came back for his Sr. year after flirting with the pros, and is out to prove that he belongs in the top tier of RB in the nation. Josh Nunes was good once again going 22/30 for 302 yds. and 2 TD passing. The Stanford defense struggled a bit with Michigan's passing offense, allowing over 300 yds. This is the 2nd week in a row that the Cardinals have given up a 300 yard passer and will have to improve on that if they wish to compete in the loaded Pac 10 this year. Coach Ticketp1 talked after the game, "I felt like we controlled the game for all 4 quarters, but we allowed the score to get a little closer than I would have liked. Our O-Line did a great job controlling the line of scrimmage against a tough Michigan D and allowing Taylor to a have some big gainers. Our defense will have to improve against the pass next week when we face Arizona or we will get beat."
