Stanford game summaries
Will start posting them here
Stanford 28 Wash State 3
Rushing Stanford 181 WSU 46
Total Yds Stanford 366 WSU 165
Led by the tandem of Stewart (96 yards) and Amana (77 yards) on the ground Stanford controlled the clock. Tollolo led the team with 5 catches. Baldwin, Stanford's #1 receiver, hurt his shoulder and is expected back at the Oregon State game.
UCLA 31 Stanford 16
The offense dominated against WSU. They failed miserably against a far superior UCLA squad. Baldwin's injury caused a bigger problem than originally anticipated. Nunes made a few bad decisions that led to 4 INTs. One was a pick 6 by a defensive lineman. Which offense will show up against Arizona?
Stanford 21 Arizona 7
Defense says it all. Neither team forced a turnover, but Stanford's defense only allowed 174 yards. Stanford gained a total of 337. Led by a steady attack of Stewart with 156 yards on the ground Stanford wad a 2 to 1 advantage in time of possession.
Stanford is on the rise!!! Can u make it a winning season?
If I had beaten UCLA I had a small chance at 6-6. If I win out it will be 5-7.
Stanford 20 Oregon State 14
Since changing coaches this Stanford team is fired up. First drive of the game they went down and scored silencing the raucous Oregon State crowd. Oregon State got the ball and went for it on a 4th and 1 and Rodgers the RB was tackled for a loss. When Stanford went down the field and scored to make it 14-0 that all but put Oregon State away. Stanford had a 17-0 lead before Oregon State made a game of it. Stanford held off a furious rally in the second half to win the game. If we see the same effort next week, they could beat a tough Cal team.
Stanford lost their final game of the season after blowing a 17-7 lead. The 4th quarter was fun though which both Cal and Stanford trading tds. Final I think was 35-30.
Stanford finishes 4-8 on the season but their coach has hope for the following season. Even though Stanford lost the coach hopes all the recruits liked the game.
USC 31 Stanford 0
Stanford played a decent first quarter. However 3 ints were a tough thing to overcome. USC had much more talent and it showed as the game went on.
Stanford 45 Washington State 20
Stanford as a team had 5 TDs rushing. They used timely passing to set up the run. Nunes threw for 228 yards and 1 TD. Amana had 63 yards rushing and 3 TDS
Up next at #6 Washington Huskies
Washington 17 Stanford 9
Stanford went up to tough Husky Stadium expecting to be blown out. They, however, got a pleasant surprise. They hump with a tough Husky team and lost 17-9. They played with heart but four interceptions did them in. In the first half they lost Amana to broken ribs. He is listed as day to day. Taylor cam in and ran for 88 yards, with a nice 35 yard TD to help keep the Cardinal close. Owusu led the team with 3 receptions for 66 yards.
Next game at Arizona State
Stanford 21 Arizona State 14
Stanford went to Arizona State with a plan. Run the ball. They succeeded rather well running for over 200 yards as a team. Taylor, filling in for the injured Amana, led the way with 206 yards and 2 tds. This helped take the pressure off of Nunes. He only made 1 mistake, and it was a costly one. He was hit as he threw the ball and ASU picked it off returning it for a touchdown. Amana is still day to day. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he can be back for UCLA.
Stanford 24 Oregon State 13
Sweet it worked
Will summarize later along with a second video for that game and will have video for the UCLA loss also.
