Gentleman, as of now we have just the 3 of us LOL. I don't mind doing a connected career with just the 3 of us.

Whatever the decided setup is I definitely have alot of interest in playing. NHL has really grown on me last few years and its probably my favorite game to play. That said before I started playing I was not a hockey enthuisist, I knew nothing about hockey really until I really got into GM connected last year. I am very raw to the sport but have alot of enthusiasm and am willing to learn. As to why I haven't posted many comments I just didn't want to say anything out of place due to my limited knowledge. Fiddy I understand your criticism of the game being a fan you want the game to be true. I'm the guy the game was tailored to the middle of the road fan so I don't see it in the same light. I will be honest I'm rough around the edges and would need some coaching, but I take criticism well and would be more than willing to learn how hockey is meant to be played, not how its played in the lobbies. So if you do start a league and don't mind helping me grow, I would love to learn with you guys and get an enjoyable experience in

feel free to weigh in, man... we need feedback from all users to make the league great. rookies, vets, everyone. we can't move forward with a league if we don't have all the possibilities sorted out and i wouldn't want to alienate anyone.

i think i'm closer to your line of thoughts about the game & series than i am to Fiddy's... end of the day, i just want a fun league environment to play with guys so i don't have to always play the CPU. my brother & i played a GMC season last year with some friends, and it was okay but didn't have the same community involvement because we only played like 12-14 user games each, rest of the time it was just CPU games.

i'd rather do a custom schedule and ONLY play user games. more dynamic.

im fine with the game being tailored for a guy like yourself. my problem is they half azz that tailoring compared to other games. i mean look at Fifa, thats not an actual realistic experience on the pitch. its back and forth action by default. yet they give you all kinds of options on how you can play online.

im looking towards longevity here, always have. its just disappointing not seeing any level of interest in the NHL here. be it in the game or even in the actual league itself.

im open to anything league wise.

i was anti GM Connected Mode after last year. only basically went with the idea of having one bc it would be easier to run bc league republic etc sucking and the lack of interest. plus the stuff Drifter brought up about getting deep into the mode etc. lead me to the idea of simming a week, playing a week. which i still like, but we wont do here.

say we only get 6 guys? cool. how about an Original 6 League?

say we get 8 to 12 guys? cool. how about doing a league with the Original 12 Franchises? we could use old rules if need be when sending invites. use "Custom" and turn on 5 on 5 OT. we could have ties etc.

i ran both of the above elsewhere and it was a blast.

just shooting off ideas, dont have to do that at all, but something to think about.

i would definitely rather see ties than shootouts, but we can cross that bridge when we get there.

in terms of teams to choose from, i like the original 6 idea. i also like the original 12 idea. there's even the 'everyone from the same conference' idea. or we could do an AHL league or an OHL/WHL/QMJHL league. international league would be cool, too. there's tons of options, much like FIFA, with EPL, Serie A, Ligue 1, etc.

i'll get the other guys to weigh in... one is my brother, that i talked to last night about it. and another is a buddy i brought in to FIFA.

If it is just 6, then we should do a connected career and go from there. Let the chips fall where they may. The 6 of us can manage whatever doesn't work. Hard to manage that stuff when you have 20.

On another note, who is getting the early release Friday?

I'm up for attempting to get involved anyway possible to get a solid little NHL league going. I also had some fun with how they ran FIFA league and never really had too many issues with getting games scheduled. Just after all the nonsense with the NHL league last year and a ton of head butting with game play style etc. I hope everyone can chip in with feedback and lets be open to everything.
