Pittsburgh managed just 144 yards on offense vs the Bengals in week 3 but this week the story was all about the defense. 8, count um 8 turnovers were forced. The Steelers intercepted the Bengals 5 times and forced 3 fumbles. Lawrence Timmons led the way for Pittsburgh with 9 tackles (4 for loss), 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles with one recovered. Safeties Jim Leonhard and Troy Polamalu both had 2 Int's, Leonhard returned one for a pick 6. Second year linebacker Nate Wakeel had a good game as well with 3 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT and 2 fumble recoveries. The stat sheet credits Wakeel with 65,534 fumble yards but I don't remember quite that many. Cincinnati used all three QB's before finally settling with Russell Wilson who seemed to spark the Bengals offense in the second half but by then it was too late. Down 27-7 in the 4th, Wilson hit TE Jermaine Gresham for a TD cutting the lead down to 13 and after recovering the onsides kick the Bengals appeared to have a little life left. After turning the ball over on downs, Cincinnati forced a three and out and the Steelers had to punt. After picking off the Bengals for the fifth time and then stopping Cincinnati on 4th down Steelers were able to secure the win.
