Let's start talking about things we like to see added or taken away in the next season. Let's try to stay away from slider stuff, though. We can discuss that separately. What I'm interested in here is what we could do to keep things fresh and fun. Here are a couple of things I was thinking about:

    1. Loosening recruiting restrictions for four star teams and below. We talked about this in another thread.
    2. A holiday tourney (maybe an invitational, where we invite guys from other leagues) - I thought it could keep us busy while we wait for guys on vacation. We could declare teams (other than our own) and play it out bracket style. We could track it all in the forums. The First Annual Sim-Nation Christmas Tournament. Sound fun?
What kinds of things would you guys like to see?

I don't think I can say anything about what I wanted changed since I just joined. I am pretty happy with what I see in activity on these boards. I'll just try to comment on what you guys propose.

I would be down for a tournament. Sounds fun. I'll be here!

I thought we could organize it for the time when most guys are gone. We let it out to the whole site, take all entries, and go represent. We're not going to have our league stuff to do, so we'll have the time.

Archie, not trying to step on your toes but I could make a post in the Cheap Seats and Locker Room for you if you would like. Or if you want to do it, I understand. Just trying to be active and help with my new league!

Good idea, but we should wait a little bit, so we don't announce too early. Plus, I want to ask Ryno and Drifter, to make sure they wouldn't have an issues with us running our own gig.

I think a tourney would be a great way to keep interest going over the holidays. I will try and get the Left Coast guys involved too.

    I have another:

I'm a big recruiting geek. We don't seem to have much chatter about recruiting, so I thougth I might bring back an old favorite from last year -

In the OFFL, we used to keep a running list of top recruits. I think it was the top 25 or so, but could do whatever we want. Then, each week, we would update it simply by tracking who signed where. It got guys talking about recruits they liked, and I found it even helped as the years passed, since guys would bitch and moan when a guy they lost to another user had a big game, or won an award. It was fun. Wanna bring it back?

I like this idea, also. I'd like a lot more recruiting talk over the course of the season.

Anyone notice Texas signed 8 five star recruits and Oklahoma got 5?

    Cheesers!!!

One thing slider related but any thought to increasing CPU pass defense? I feel CPU is pretty easy to pass against and only with heavy blitz can they stop me.

Yeah I noticed the CPU was cleaning up on those 5*s oh well looks like Texas and Oklahoma will dominate their way into the championship every year unless we schedule them OOC and lay the beat down on their asses.

We're going to start scheduling the contenders in the Pac Ten and Big 12 in coming years. And Boise is going to be on a couple of schedules. I'm not going to engineer a User-User championship game, but we can help it along a bit.

But OSU is still at the top of the recruiting heap, with just 3 5*'s

With these sliders we have that is risky. Texas or Oklahoma could well beat any user team we have.

If Texas is pulling in those kind of recruits they could easily beat any of us. Hell I have a hard time beating teams like Nebraska let alone a team that is really good.

    I won't mind helping, BUT I won't be around much so I won't participate.

That's cool. I was thinking we set it up for the day after Christmas, sticky a thread here for scheduling and results, and play a game a day until we have a champ. Should be over before January. One game a day means I still have time left over to slay the Christmas newbies on Black Ops.

The CPU is dangerous. That's how it oughta be. Even if the BCS title game is a user vs. the CPU, with the bowl settings cranked up (by this I mean the CPU doing this - I haven't proposed any new bowl sliders, and I won't this year) the game is likely to be a good one no matter what.

Don't mean to say I am against playing them. Just don't expect them to get knocked out of contention because they play a user during season. I will play any team.
